    Hey Naveen,
I just bought the ZMA in the 1st week of Feb 2011 & covered 3100kms on the odo. Even I travel 50-60kms each day & outings on the weekends.

The bike has good comfort, riding pleasure & as you mentioned good presence also. It is also stable on high speeds & it gives decent mileage also. I get 44-45kmpl riding at the constant speeds of 60-70kmph.

If you maintian your bike, it will not give you any problems & as our friend "Kaynmantis" mentioned he has just changed the basic parts which will wear out in any other bike.

Go for it man. You will not repent on the decesion taken of buying a ZMA-R

Believe it, I do it regularly. In fact I was able to hit 50 kmpl . Though that was not normal riding condition, I deliberately took extra care with the throttle.

Yes! Thats the catch. Me too is having 2011 Karizma and I am getting 45+ at run in, while doing below 60kmph and extreamely gentle on the throttle.
          Move on.........

              Yes, Naveen.
Thrown off the engine guard and installed FZ crash guard. It looks good atleast to me, and the engine seems to be coolar while riding.
              coming up with the pic.

Naveen - Just curious to know about the crash guard fitted on to your bike.

                  I'm having few questions here..

                  1. Why did you choose FZ crash guard, when you had the option of CBZ-X, Unicorn? Was it purely by choice?
                  2. Was that a direct fit?
                  3. Does it run close to the faring?

I would appreciate if you could post few pictures along with your response.

Honda engines are all about refinement, and reliability. This engine is still manufactured and used in other countries also.
are you sure that chain is not aluminium coated? Then why chain noise of karizma so audible? The chain isn't the O-ring type like R15's & 220. Is it because of the bigger sprocket teeths & chain? I am happy to hear that karizma's engine still lives in modern honda bikes, around the world.

                        It is very much achievable.

It is the thicker wider chain which seems to make the noise...I say seems to because the same on a noisy engine cannot be heard. The stock ZMA engine, and exhaust are quite silent and so you hear the noise of chain, the fairing and sometimes the OE horn also .
Honda is still using it in their CRF 230 dirt bike, and upgrades are available...

Even I did not believe these figures before, but after I got them while riding I am happy .

I generally shift to higher gears between 3500-4000rpm & it easily cruises at 70kmph at 4000rpm on the top gear. Be easy on the throttle & you can achieve more than this.

@All : If someone has put up a CBZ / Unicorn crashguard, kindly put up some pictures. I am planning to install it over the weekend. Also will it be a direct fit or any mods need to be. Suggestions welcomed & help appreciated.

                            Thanks

My thoughts exactly, Zma uses 520 size chain that is bigger and heavier than those used in smaller capacity bikes. Remember, the chains are smashing against the sprockets with great force, so the higher the speed, the greater the force, hence the greater the noise. I lube my chain regularly. A freshly lubed chain barely makes noise because there is film of oil on the surface of the chain and sprockets dampening the contact of metal against metal(chain against sprockets). Though soon enough, these film of oil will disappears and noise will be back. Though the joints in the chain still retain the oil for a longer period.

I notice this phenomenon better in my bike because I have removed the chain cover, so its more audible.

Another phenomenon I have noticed is..the slackness of chain also contributes to noise. My chain makes lesser noise since I last adjusted them.

Try lubing with Castrol bearing grease..after some time there will be reduction in the noise...Regarding slackness, it is because of the final sprocket ratio..if the small sprocket is made to be 14 teeth(Achiever) or the back sprocket smaller by 2 teeth, then this kind of elongation will reduce. The downside is it will be good for touring not for those who want to rip....and the top gear being taller,... the engine cannot rev to it's limit and top speed may get reduced.
