  • How often does a karizma requires an oil change???
    A) 6000km!!!

    Thats what HH website suggest!!

This is exactly what the website says:
"Replace engine oil once in every 6000KM. Top up once in every 2000KM."

PS: Due to size constraints, I am un-able to upload the pdf file. Damn!! the size limit for pdf is 20kb!!!

HH oil hardly will last 6000 KM and you will be end up paying more coz of premature engine damage. HH oil max life is 2000 KM, some strecth it up to max 3000 KM.

Has anyone tried retaining HH oil for 6000 KM?

              I don't think HH oil last for 2000Kms,even @ 1000kms,the oil seems worse.I have a 2006 karizma and i change oil every 1000kms

Yes the air filter looks clogged..it is supposed to be white in color..I had the same problem and HH SVC was not having stock and it will take another month...So I had fitted a Zen MPFI air filter by cutting and fitting...for the time being had filled the side gaps with heavyduty thick foam and used hot glue to seal all gaps and secure it in place..Have a look

Teflon coating is actually not required unless your bike lives in a corrosive surrounding..Don't use water often to clean the bike ,it will lead to early onset of rust..clean it with a wet cloth, and wipe it dry.During monsoon,as soon as you return home and park the bike, hose out the mud and grime from the bike and wipe it dry, because the mud and grime holds Moisture and will cause rusting. When you detetct a small rust spot, clean it with fine emery, and apply a coat of matching paint and let it dry before driving. If you have to wash do it on a sunny day when you can dry the bike easily....just my thought.

HH svc quotes Rs.200/- for the stock ZMA filter...The Zen filter costs Rs.125/-.....I am going to make a template and make a permanent removable fitting for the Zen one so that I don't have to depend on these HH guys and will actually spend less with a superior filter available off the shelf.
P.S. I had trimmed the edges of the Zen filter to fit inside the ZMA stock box

Try to get the OEM ZMA one...Fitting a Zen filter takes a lot of re-engineering ,and time consuming...I did it out of a desperate need. I am still on the look out for a better car air filter....
