Its nearly 1800rs for ZMR's shock(one). No idea about others and part number.Originally posted by Ramborider View PostKarizma Parts Manual - https://picasaweb.google.com/1010125...rizmaCatalogue

If your battery is 7ah/6ah then you better be careful . Even with stock (35/35W) h/l the meter tends to reset on that battery . Low rpm night rides tend to drain your battery . With a 9ah battery I have no such problem . I'm not sure whether revving the engine just before killing the engine (like in earlier diesel engined four wheelers) would help . To get the full potential of the nightbreaker , a relay is a must . No need for rewinding . You can choose to reduce your consumption by going for 10W indicator bulbs ( for which a flasher change is required) and 5/10W tail light bulbs . If possible get LED park lights too .Originally posted by shirish View PostThanks for the reply ashwin. As i said, i already got the osram night breaker 55W, So what would be the best setup method - with a relay/Coil rewinding/battery upgrade or just add it without any other change
Can the ZMR's panel be connected to the ZMA ? I am not thinking about it but if some one is then it'd be good to get an answer either way .Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostGo for the relay, tried and tested by many xbhpians(acs sir, vineeth bro etc.). They say the 55/60's full potential can only be utilised by using a relay.
The new ZMA's have a very little error margin. IIRC error margin is around 4~8kmph. I wouldve posted pics but then they'd say I was trying to promote speeding
.
And sir, today morning after shaking up the bike for a while the brake fluid level rose, I believe theres something inside blocking it or something, maybe a huge air lock or something, btw the pads can still be seen, so I believe it's still fine. Motuls hard to find, hence better would be better to search for KBX or TVS. Will give it another shot on monday.
When you're changing the oil I guess you'll be draining the oil and then filling it and removing the air/air bubbles . So I guess it won't matter if there's something blocking it now .
Couple of months back when I inquired they said 4000/- for a pair . So that's near enough .Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostIts nearly 1800rs for ZMR's shock(one). No idea about others and part number.
BTW my speedo cable has gone kaput and it's not available at ASC . The one I have now shows that I can go as low as 10 kmph in top gear !!!
Anyone who can get the original ZMA speedo cable and willing to courier it to me ( all costs borne by me ) please contact me .

Already done, but a few sensors wont work, like the mileage indicator etc.BTW the ZMR doesnt have a cable apparatus for the speedo, its a contact less sensor like the ones found in cars, hence the reason why lesser speedo error.Originally posted by acs1207 View PostCan the ZMR's panel be connected to the ZMA ? You wont believe it, but after shaking the bike the fluid fills the inspection window. Hence I believe even though am not low on fluid I still need to replace it. Though have'nt finalized on which one to opt for, availability being the major factor. When you're changing the oil I guess you'll be draining the oil and then filling it and removing the air/air bubbles . So I guess it won't matter if there's something blocking it now .
The cables slipping thats why you're getting lower speeds indicated. Better run without it else you'd have to shell out alot of cash in the future. The one I have now shows that I can go as low as 10 kmph in top gear !!!
Ask for the old Splendor speedo cable. Its the same as ZMA cable, but with a little more length, the speedo readings are the same comparing the ZMA factory cable.Anyone who can get the original ZMA speedo cable and willing to courier it to me ( all costs borne by me ) please contact me .Motorcycling Experience:

Yeah!! Even I face similar issues. What I do is dip the key in Engine Oil (I have a spare can) and then the issue gets fixed.Rachit K Dogra

Just circle the ignition lock groves with oil with the help of key so the oil gets inside and lube the movement. Or spray WD40, simple.Originally posted by suresheadala View PostHi All, My Ignition lock Jams every time water goes inside(Water wash/rain). The lock turns after lot of struggle. Did a 1 week trip. To the hills -Munnar, valparai , chalakudy( athirapally waterfalls)
-Distance- 1100 km (approximate) speedo cable broke at 940.7 km on trip meter
-petrol cost 1700
due to heavy rains the bike showed some missing which was due to entry of water onto carburettor. the problem was solved when the carb was drained.
Got a mileage of 46 km per litre . Most of the time i was cruising in 60.
happy to be back here.
also Thanks to ashwin and aneesh for helping me to find and fix the new air filter.Last edited by Jerrin; 06-26-2012, 06:47 PM.

Otherwise like LOKZMA said check if the SVC had switched your battery..always write down ON THE BATTERY your bike no ...and also on the TIRES have some small marking to recognize if any switch is made...
Took the bike to the SVC today. Pressed the switch and showed them that the bike isnt starting, they checked the headlights, horn , side indicators, and said that the battery is fine but the relay has gone and needs to be replaced.
relay gone in just 4 months ?

My bike had the above mentioned issue when it was brand new. When I visited a friends home he took a bottle of WD40 and with the nossle attached, sprayed a very generous amount directly into the keyhole, and its been a year and still havent faced anything of that sort.Motorcycling Experience:

I had connected what I think is the old Splendor cable . It was maybe 3 or 4 inches longer . Today got the original one and guess what ...the meter wasn't working at all . The roadside mech said - 'take it to the meter repair shop' . I took a 'star' screwdriver from him and with the help of Vineeth bro got to work . When the front wheel was turning the cable was like 3 quarter turn then stop then 3 quarter turn and so on . Means the gear is gone . Most probably when the cable broke , it jammed and damaged the nylon gear too . Any way , bought one (speedo gear) and hope to do the DIY this week end . In the mean while , have disconnected the cable from the speedo end to prevent damage to the socket there .Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostThe cables slipping thats why you're getting lower speeds indicated. Oil prevents water from getting to the surface and it's a good idea to put in 2 drops of oil in to the key hole as the monsoon rains have started . Also , light switches will/might be affected . Mine's a bit tight ( the indicator switch ) and will try to open it up this week end .Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostJust circle the ignition lock groves with oil with the help of key so the oil gets inside and lube the movement. Also have to clean my carb since the engine stutters ( and goes on only if I give choke ) if I rev the engine above 6-7k rpm for 15 or 20 seconds .
Seems like a whole lot to do this week end since I have to over haul my front brake as well .
Well , procrastination is one of my favorite hobbies and laziness is another . Let's see...

Good to see you back after long time....Try adjusting AFR by Half a turn Anti Clockwise to cure the small hiccup. I guess now your enjoying "Aruned" 235cc ZMA.Originally posted by acs1207 View PostAlso have to clean my carb since the engine stutters ( and goes on only if I give choke ) if I rev the engine above 6-7k rpm for 15 or 20 seconds .
