    • Got a new set of rubbers this weekend.
Based on reviews, went for the Michelin Sirac Street for the rear. Stock size 100/90-18. (Rs.2200)

For the front, it was a Ceat GRIPP 2.75-18. (Rs.1550)

Picked up both from JC Road. Looked around in a couple of shops. There was such a huge price difference between two shops right next to each other also. In one shop he quoted 2800 for the same tire! So if anyone is going there, ask around in a couple of places atleast before deciding.

Got the fitting also done in the same place for 100 bucks, both the tires. Unfortunately, did not get any good deal for my old tires. They were bad anyways so I gave them away for free!

Not much riding after that, so will post a review sometime later.

After riding for about an hour or so, when was about to negotiate a turn and I pressed horn, but it failed, so turned on the high beam and just for a millisecond the bike skipped a few beats but regained, it was a completely strange experience, the horn was still dead when I reached home, only the BUK sound was coming, thought the horn was dead. The next day was pissed and was heading to the shop were I bought the horn, road was clean, hence floored it. And surprisingly just before reaching the shop I hit the horn by reflex, and it was working without any issues. So finally concluded it to be the battery's flash, though have'nt faced any issues ever since and its been about 4 months or so.
Since my battery is extremely low. Sometime when I ride in night with stock low beams[don't use High beams much] when I flash high beams using PASS switch the instrument console go crazy. Speed and RPM will be zero. When it regains power it will suddenly go form 0-80 KMPH. I like to see the Speedo goin up so fast. Have to upgrade to 9AH this month waiting for the salary....

This Ceat GRIPP looks like a rear wheel type. Any reason why not Sirac Street for the front?

Anyways.. I gifted myself M45 4.00X18 for future use.

              Max,
The tyre is not good till 500-600kms of use. I have done close to 1000kms on the tyre & still find it lacking grip. Just for the information,I am currently running on 30psi

              • so much conflicting opinions and price...

Please seniors guide me, because I don't wanna end up buying a set of tires that do not last for long and do not provide significant grip and traction. My parents would not allow multiple tire changes so please I request for an honest opinion.

                Here is what I know:
                1. PSD is costly and has a short life and for smooth tarmac basically.
                2. My ride is mainly on good roads only.
                3. I don't want a tire that is specially designed for off-roading, neither do I want one completely for track. Please don't suggest Pirelli Scorpion Trail now

Which one to buy and have a peace of mind for a good thousands of kilometers?

                • Sunny_ , I'll be in the same situation next year I guess not know which tyres should go for. My hunt for ZMA tyres still continues.

                    • Guys, needed to ask you something regarding a 2012 Karizma R that I bought 2 weeks back. I was replacing the rear indicators with LED and opened up the screw holding the indicator glass. However the screw completely disfigured when I tried to open it. Same is the case with all the screws on the bike. Even the Brake Fluid Cap's screw lost it's grooves when I tried to open it with a normal screw driver. So is the case with all the fairing screws.
Has anyone faced the problem before or has the quality of ZMA dropped over the years?
Just for the info, the rest of the bike is fine. Engine's butter smooth and none of the fairing rattles.

                      • Quality is crap, dont worry, next time you're even thinking about taking anything apart, source the respective nuts/bots/screws as a pack from HH.

In my case, the nuts welded to the swingarm which are responsibe for holding the chain guard was first to go, then the bolts holding the starter motor in place, like that many many more. Currently the speedo lockbolt is messed up, and looking for a replacement.

Could not find the Sirac Street for the front.. This was the most similar pattern to the Sirac I could find. Even I suspected the same as it looked more like a rear tire but the dealer assured it will suit the zma's front a lot. Any problems of using it in the front? Did not find any handling issues till now but anything to look out for? The bike looks all hot and rugged with these rubbers in the front!

Its really strange. But, have you used proper screwdriver, I mean, screw driver tip in good condition? What I have observed in all these years is, mechanics use disformed + screw/oversized scewdriver and it destroys the grooves of the screws. Once I had this experience with disc reservoir cap where the screws last the groove, and when I saw the screwdriver tip, its not exactly +; its deformed. This caused slipping from the groove and repeated trys completely destroyed them. Using proper + screw with proper size is very important. Also while rotating you have to be sure that the screwdriver tip and the screw got locked properly.

Now I am always careful while using a screw driver. Got myself Taparia screwdriver set and used them always. Since then, I never got these kind of problems. At service station or outside mechanic shops, they generally don't have a screwdriver with proper tip.

Also, please source the screws and keep them in stock. Whenever there is a little disformation of the grove, please replace them. If you keep them just like that, the next time you are gonna face a problem.

even i had this problem... but it was not due to low battery... mine was caused due to loose connection of the fuse in the small black box connected to the positive terminal of the battery... for me it used to happen even when i used indicators & brakes... i just pushed the fuse a little bit inside & its solved now... also check your wiring for leaks...
It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.
