Just check whether your battery is near the end of it's life or whether you can prolong it's life . Check the battery water level . If it's low , top it up

Sumthing's wrong here I think . Even if it's top speed in 5th gear , at @ 7750 rpm the speed shouldn't be what's shown ... unless the drive ratio has been altered . Is it your bike ?

And what the heck's the rider doing...clicking a snap at that speed ???

The dials look great with good visibility .

Has anyone faced the problem before or has the quality of ZMA dropped over the years?
Just for the info, the rest of the bike is fine. Engine's butter smooth and none of the fairing rattles.
    Did you use a - screw driver for a + screw ?
Also if it's tight at first attempt , use WD40/Zorrik or oil

. Currently the speedo lockbolt is messed up, and looking for a replacement.
    Speedo lock bolt ...??
Why did you have to open the speedo ?

Last day I DIYed my nylon speedo gear replacement and then found that the screw near the speedo gear unit's lost it's grip - it just rotates and doesn't get tight .. I just kept it that way , but am planning to put a piece of thread around the screw thread to tighten it .

To all DIYers ----get the proper tools - that'll save you time and money over time .
    Main things to get are
    - screw driver
    + screw driver
    spanners for sizes you need
ring spanners for sizes you need
If you don't have a spark plug spanner a ring spanner of required size will do ( my mech used a ring spanner to remove the spark plug !)
A multi meter (for electrical works only )
    WD40/Zorrik - for screws/nuts/bolts that are adamant .

Well , the the list is not conclusive ...

Bone stock ride, and heck no! Not my ride, I wont be stupid enough to click a pic while riding, a video would've been more sensible. Found the pic on FB a fellow Xbhpians friend's the rider. The bike's only 4 month old. Thought of posting the pic cause of the massive speedo error.

Crazy people, got to know from his friend that he totalled the bike after seeing the speedo and panicking.

      Speedo lock bolt ...??
Why did you have to open the speedo ?
I meant the speedo cable. Theres a bolt which locks the speedo outer cable in place, on the hub.

The speedo is way off for a stock bike .

That would be a screw ... I think . I have problem with the screw near the hub . I've just kept it in place for the moment and I intend to wrap a thread or a piece of plastic on the screw to tighten it .

Oh, then same pinch. Very cheap quality. Only if we remove it we can disconnect the speedo cable from the hub, hope its the same thing. Then you can use a smaller bolt and nut, cause its actually a hole and can be accessed from both sides.

Once I had this experience with disc reservoir cap where the screws last the groove, and when I saw the screwdriver tip, its not exactly +; its deformed. This caused slipping from the groove and repeated trys completely destroyed them. Using proper + screw with proper size is very important. Also while rotating you have to be sure that the screwdriver tip and the screw got locked properly.

I used a new multi head screw driver with the + type head. And the screws got disfigured under normal force. They werent bone stuck as such so as to require excessive force to open them. It was a one twist affair that disfigured the screws like they were made out of dough.
Guess I should start stocking up on extra screws just in case and replace the existing ones. :/

I would think using the rear tyre for the front might stick too much to the road as the rear one.

              • One of the silencer screw is missing on my bike and have been searching for these screws at service centers, but in vain. Yesterday found one silencer screw on the road. :P

Changed the front wheel bearings today. The bearings code is 6301(UU). Its not available out side it seems. The regular 6301 is with thin walls comparatively, which is used in Splendor and other bikes. Also the bearings are sealed ones.

                  • Posting on behalf of Arun(BlackPanther).

Bike has been in SVC for more than 3 months. Bike was ridden to SVC.
                    Gave for complete overhaul.
                    1.Timing chain.
                    2. Valves.
                    3. Tensioner.
                    4. Cylinder Kit.
                    5. Clutch friction plate and bell/vase.
                    6. All seals and gaskets.

                    1. They're saying that the bike's not starting cause the timings going off, cause the timing chains getting stuck and getting mis aligned. They want to replace the flywheel completely and quoting a bill of 4k. This is the exact terminology used - "Timing chain'te CHAVI poyi, so timing correct aavunilla."

                    2. Brake fluid replacement was mentioned, they called back saying that the master cylinder's missing. So they replaced it with Glamours. Keep in mind the bike was ridden to the SVC, they're saying that the bike came in without the master cylinder.

@Everyone, please help clear the above issues.

Why is the bike standing there in the service station for three months?? What guarantee can the Service Center give that the bike will be intact for three months?

                              • Need some help here. What are the signs of worn clutch plates? I have noticed a couple of things till now and I suspect its got something to do with them..
                                • Sometime back I was cruising along with a pillion(Both a bit on the heavier side ) around 110kph for sometime continuously. All of a sudden, the engine screams! The rpm is still high but no power to the wheels and the bike starts slowing down. I have done this before with the same pillion till around 250km and no issues. So I just slowed down a little, downshifted and continued. It was fine after that.
                                • Pretty often these days, when I shift to the second from the first, it doesn't go to second. Its in neutral only. But the Neutral light doesn't glow. Then when I release the clutch and accelerate the neutral light glows up and the engine roars! Then I have to hit it again to take it to second.
                                • The gear shifting is not very smooth and it is not accurate also.
                                • There is a drop in mileage recently! Slight feeling that the acceleration/top speed has also reduced.
                                • When I bought this bike around 16months back, it had run 27k km. Now it has crossed 50k km. Haven't touched the clutch plates till now and I have no idea if the previous owner has changed them or not.

I know this is a pretty long post but any help or suggestion on this is highly appreciated..
