Thank you. So is it possible to change part 2&3 myself or is best to leave it to the mech?Originally posted by psr View PostParts 2 & 3.one is the brush and the other is the spring which keeps it pressed against the commutator....it is the brush you need to change.
Just wanna learn.

I'm not so sure . The power output of various bikes differ even if the voltage is the same . The battery capacity also will be different . Also , ZMA's electricals are full DC . I don't know about CBZ , but I doubt whether another bike from the HH stable has full DC setting . To be safe use an original ZMA RR unit . Unless someone authoritatively says it is swappable , assume that it is not .Originally posted by vivekarizma View PostGuys..does zma's rectifier matches with any other bike's? The trust worthy mech of mine insist that CBZ xtreme's and few other hero 150cc bike's rectifiers are same as zma. pl shed some light on this..its really irritating to ride without proper self start and headlight.
Try removing the air box cover for more roar .Originally posted by ashwinprakas View Post
Not much improvement in sound, just adds more thump, it doesnt have the K&N throaty scream.
Had plans to upjet to 140main, but running fine with current setting.
That's better . Do things one at a time , fine tune it and then move on to the next thing . If you change many things at once and something goes awry , you have to check everything that you have changed . Also you can compare the difference in performance with every change and easily undo something you don't want .sigpic

Roar is the same, in the beginning the bike ran like thisOriginally posted by acs1207 View PostTry removing the air box cover for more roar .

But I kept having nightmares of pushing a 150kg chunk of metal in the middle of a heavy rainstorm
. The only benefit now is that the bikes rideable in heavy rains without any issues and the intake roar resonates within the box making it more soothing to the ears.
Yup. Thats the whole point, had a night run a couple of hours ago with the AFR upped to 5 turns, Everything went smooth, bike leaps forward and de-acceleration has also improved, so planning to stick with this setting, cause currently bike's performing well, so if I plonk a 140 main am sure to kill the performance, so will be keeping them as spare, untill further mods pop up. Didnt know the stock jets kick ass. That's better . Do things one at a time , fine tune it and then move on to the next thing . Another peculiar thing, when I use choke, the bike literally chokes. i.e with choke the bike makes a wheezing sound. Kinda funny.

Nice buy at that price mate.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostBut today I got hold of one (old stock) from a Michelin dealer. M45 + SS 2.75 for 3850 (never thought I would spend this much for tyres; I bought MRF front tyre of Karizma for 750 in 2008 and M45 for 1600 in 2009).
Sorry I was unable to visit the spare shop this weekend as I was busy with other stuff. Will leave office early & try to make it today.
The issue here is the front suspension being too soft. I have also gone through the same problem and changed the mud guard. I also over hauled the front forks at 20k kms, in which I removed the oil fork oil & filled in 165ml in each(factory setting is 145ml). The ride is a bit hard, but the crash guard is no more fouling with the mud guard.Originally posted by rajdiceman View PostThe most common problem in zma r is the front mud guard which gets damage when ever bike goes in pot hole .
i was thinking to fit ZMR front mudguard to my zma r can it get fit or any 1 had tryed it ?

Upped the AFR to 5 turns and sealed the AFR screw hole with grease. Rode 101Kms today, bike felt good.
Opened the right switch assembly and loosened both the throttle cables, and the throttle became just as smooth when the bike was new, lubed with 20W40(Which fell on the crank case and caused the bike to smoke alot mid riding.) and packed the entire assembly with grease and closed it.
Edit,
Ordered 130Mains as well. Hoping to get them in a few weeks. Ive noticed something strange, while accelerating extremely slowly in high gears, theres a millisecond flat spot somewhere between 3.5~4.5K. It doesnt show up when accelerating at a faster phase. Is it the supply shifting from the Pilot to Mains???Last edited by ashwinprakas; 07-09-2012, 06:32 PM.Motorcycling Experience:

New issue. This bike wont lemme live in peace.
When I shake the bike or while in motion theres a tak tak sound coming from within the tank. My fuel level is in reserve now. I know its the float sensor, but still I needed confirmation on the same, and would also like to know if the tank is replaceable under warranty. Thanks in advance guys.Last edited by ashwinprakas; 07-11-2012, 09:07 PM.Motorcycling Experience:

If the sound emitts only while shaking the tank, then DON'T SHAKE! On the lighter note, what else do you do with your bike apart from it's primary purpose?

Pretty hard to follow when riding in bumper to bumper traffic.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostIf the sound emitts only while shaking the tank, then DON'T SHAKE!
I used to sit and jump on the bike for no particular reason. At that point of time it used to be fun, but now I'm starting to regret doing it.On the lighter note, what else do you do with your bike apart from it's primary purpose?

If that sound does pose a concern to the performance of the bike please go the dealer for changing the tank.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostPretty hard to follow when riding in bumper to bumper traffic.
Arrogant by nature....realized it later!I used to sit and jump on the bike for no particular reason. At that point of time it used to be fun, but now I'm starting to regret doing it.

No effect at all in performance, first thought the custom manifold was responsible for the noise, but later traced it to the tank. A friend of mine has this issue with his Fazer, no issue with performance, though the fuel guage becomes kinda uselss after. Just wondering if I could get it claimed under warranty. You know how HH would wave away customers by saying that the electricals are'nt part of the warranty. Anyways will give the SVC a visit sometime soon.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostIf that sound does pose a concern to the performance of the bike please go the dealer for changing the tank.
What to do, first ride in the household which has a good suspension, could'nt resist the urge.Arrogant by nature....realized it later!
