Yeah bro, the Sirac Street is great. Just be careful on wet roads. Its really scary on wet roads if your bike tilts a bit for maybe a turn or dodging a pothole and you even touch the brakes. Dunno if its just my bike. Dry grip is superb though....Originally posted by rav View Post

Neutral light was on and bike was in neutral, hit starter button and nothing, repeated like 3~4 more times and nothing, I repeat it once more and the bike cranks and comes to life, like normal.

Yoi'll have a fair idea.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostNeutral light was on and bike was in neutral, hit starter button and nothing, repeated like 3~4 more times and nothing, I repeat it once more and the bike cranks and comes to life, like normal.

My HL's were already on. I dont bother to turn HL off when engines off or when I start it. Some of the mech's warned me it would cause premature battery failure, but my bikes 2 Years old and still running on stock battery, this is the first time am facing an issue from the battery/electric starter, but fortunately it only happened once. Previously there was a charging problem, if I ride at slow speeds at night for a while then horn wont honk, actually it will honk but only after a long delay, but this went away on its own if the RPM was taken to around 4~5k.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostCould have tried switching on the lights or tryong the jorn to get an idea...try it with the ignition on and the engine off. Well, no wonder your battery is giving you problems..!! Wrong practice that is, the sudden surge of electricity when switching on the vehicle can damage the electrical setup and drain the battery too. You won't feel the adverse effect when having a kicker, if it was a heavy bike ..eeer..i don't know like a 220 and you are stranded with a failed battery and no kicker , then you might have second thoughts on this behavior...!!Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostMy HL's were already on. The original intention was to screw up the battery and get a replacement under warranty and believe me I've done worse, Aneesh bro knows, we have a hobby of screwing up stuff asap to get warranty.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostWell, no wonder your battery is giving you problems..!! But what can I say the stock Exide outlived my expectations, I havent had to kick start the bike till date due to self start failure, only time I kicked bike to start because the self starter didnt work(Bike was perfectly cranking but with self it was misfiring) was when water entered block, and that cant be considered as battery's fault.
And coming to think about it, I forgot to mention that when the self didnt respond there was no click, I've seen in Hunk with weak battery that there will be a click when battery is weak, which I believe is the relay clicking, but yesterday night when starter was not responding I didnt hear any clicks. Frankly I'm not worried about this even abit, when the bike didnt respond I just kept on pressing it till it cranked, the reason I reported this is because I have a doubt whether it was really a weak battery or something else, because in the coming days I have a 2k ride planned.

Check the contact points of the starter switch for carbon or dirt deposits.and clean.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostAnd coming to think about it, I forgot to mention that when the self didnt respond there was no click, I've seen in Hunk with weak battery that there will be a click when battery is weak, which I believe is the relay clicking, but yesterday night when starter was not responding I didnt hear any clicks. Coming to think of it, I did pack the switch assembly with grease to prevent moisture buildup. Now I'm starting to think that wasnt a good idea. :OOriginally posted by ekm-biker View PostCheck the contact points of the starter switch for carbon or dirt deposits.and clean.Motorcycling Experience:

You can upgrade oil to Motul 20W40
Best tyres I can advise is Dunlop Geo Cruiser 100/90-18 unless tou want something more fancy....
Your bulb is already H4. You can use a four-wheeler relay and upgrade to a 55/60W bulb or go xenon HID

Till date have'nt carried any doc's with me, in fear of ruining them, but now planning on getting attested copies and permanently keeping them in the box under the seat, after shifting tools to carry box.Originally posted by aarunn View PostGuys... Yes. All the time. Not carrying the docs and riding without them is illegal and you'd be penalized.Originally posted by aarunn View PostGuys... Do u keep your Bikes Documents in bike (under the seat) ? or carry it along every time in ur back pack???
Docs that I carry:
1. DL - wallet
2. Insurance - in my bag
3. PUC - in my bag
4. RC - wallet
P.S - I usually take my bag everywhere.Last edited by Divya Sharan; 03-08-2013, 03:21 PM.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
