    • Is the engine oil replacement interval still same for Karizma? I.e around 2.5k km to 3k kms! Or it is 6k km now as one my friend says its changed now

Here in showroom there are two models of KArizma R, one is Hero Honda badge and other is Hero Moto Corp badge, someone suggesting me to go for Hero Honda badge Karizma as this model is having USHA piston kit which is better and overall engine refinement of Hero Honda badge Karizma R is better than current Hero Moto Corp KArizma R.Is it true?
Pasting a quote from the ZMR thread. You get USHA pistons on the HMC Karizma, not HH.

So no problem in Hero, and infact HERO has changed many vendors of parts after split. For examples Bore and piston kit were coming from SAL and after split once again USHA.

I have seen quality to improve rather than decrease. Those people who do not have any knowledge on bikes says so, but we here know about bikes and still speak like those who have never known anything about bikes.

In fact i have ridden the Hero extreme of my friends and it felt smoother than my extreme.

Ok things to be done get a piece of leather not really thick and cut it in to appropriate sized washers same like the metal ones and then remove the heat shield by un doing the steel bolts I think they are of size 8, use ring spanner of size 8 and then once you remove the heat shield just use the leather washer like a cushion in between the heat shield and silencer and simply tighten back the steel bolts thats it, hope you got the idea its pretty simple but really effective

One more thing, I saw you changed to diesel engine oils from your earlier posts. I am up for an oil change and want to know is it really good and how does it compare to synthetic oils and does the engine feel sluggish same like when with Gulf pride. I felt like the engine had too much of a drag when it was idling and during acceleration the engine felt really sluggish when I was using Gulf pride, please answer thanks

Best tyres I can advise is Dunlop Geo Cruiser 100/90-18 unless tou want something more fancy....
Your bulb is already H4. You can use a four-wheeler relay and upgrade to a 55/60W bulb or go xenon HID

You're not supposed to touch the AFR screw(golden colour), you have to adjust the black knob which can be seen jutting out from below on the other side. If your RPM is 1000 or above at idle and you still facing the problem, you got to get your bike checked. Especially the tuning.

Have you used Motul 7100? Diesel engine oil is way way better than that. This is the simplest explanation I could come up with.

The true speed is only around 125-128 kmph. Karizma has 10% speedo error at higher speeds.

Ok, in these twelve years of riding my JOY, i have used many oils and i will post these in details.1. When the bike was new, i was using the SVC oil. I was living in small town of JAJPUR ROAD(presently industrial hub of odisha), and at that place and that time, there was not much development there. So i was using SVC oil. That time HERO was supplying those blue bottles of 20W 40 grade, which i feel was better than present 10W 30 crap. It was blue in color and ran ok for 2k, nothing great.2. At 16k kms i changed to a different oil. It came in tin pack of 1 litre and was of mistubishi and cost only Rs.80(in 2002, now see the rate of oils). Man, till now i cannot forget that oil even after 11 years, i clearly remember the experience. Engine was butter smooth and engine hardly heated even in month of may. That oil ran for 3k kms in those summer heat of 46 degrees and still was good when drained. Also the engine was so smooth that when the engine was idling, there will be no sound and the engine will feel that it has switched off. My joy idles at a low rpm of 900 rpm and with this oil the engine sound was not audible at idle. Next time when i searched that oil, came to know mistubishi oils are not available any more.3. After that used castrol Active 4T and was never satisfied. Continued till 50k kms using castrol at every oil change.4. When the head was cleaned second time at 50k, i had shifted to bhubaneswar. here we can get wide range of oil. I shifted to Moto 4 GOLD. It was many times better than ACTIVE 4t. I continued using it till 1.25 lacs km when the engine was overhauled and was actually a good oil and would easily last for 2-2.5k.5. After the engine was overhauled at 1.25 lacs km, i used HERO 10 W 30 as it will be drained at 500 km. The most useless oil for my JOY. In new HERO bikes it runs ok, and if it feels crap, in new bikes, then in my JOY it felt like COW PISS. My Joy is butter smooth and the gears are the smootedt that i know. No bike that i have ridden, have gear shifting like my joy. And i have ridden almost all bikes. In my joy just touch the gear lever and gear will shift and the pillion will not know that gear has been shifted. But with hero oil the gear became hard and also engine vibrated. Drained it at 500 km because of engine overhauling and also because of above problems.6. Since it was the peak of summer and also the engine was newly built, engine was heating crazily. So i decided to use CASTROL CRB plus which is a diesel engine oil. I must say something here:- If castrol is so much popular in INDIA then it is because of only this oil and nothing else. This is the preffered oil among truckers and is one of the best diesel engine oils around. I used it for 2k before draining. The most important point is that it never felt like engine was heating and also the didn't evaporate un-like 4T oil which decreases level in summer season because of excess heat. If you are using diesel engine oil use castrol CRB but now the cost has increased a lot.7. By this time, i became friends with a GUY who has spares shop in BHUBANESWAR, and stocks OE spares of HERO, BAJAJ and TVS. He also has many lubricants in his shop. It has been five years and since then and i have never bought spares and oil from anywhere else. You see in BHUBANESWAR, there are fakes of almost everything. So, i stick to his shop as his are all original stuffs. So this time i shifted to VEEDOL TAKE OFF 4T 20W 40, and the gear became once again butter smooth. Veedol manufactures one of the best oil in business and i do not know why it doesn't markets. It is one of the very first oil to be API SM and JASO MA2 oil in markets. I will definitely recommend it to any one who is changing to 20W 40 oil. The most enduring quality of VEEDOL oils are that gear becomes butter smooth. Presently my friend who uses ZMR is using VEEDOL oil and believe me once you use it, then there is no returning to other oils. So, if you are going for 20W 40 oil then use VEEDOL TAKE OFF 4T and it cost a mere Rs.205 including discounts and coupon. Our stunner was giving the problem of CAM noise at greater than 6k RPM, which is a common in shine and stunner, but this time is used VEEDOL take off 4T and the sound has gone away.8. This was the best phase of oil as i shifted to new oil known as VEEDOL SWIFT. It is a semi synthetic and is API SM and JASO MA2. And believe me, i got the same smoothness as the MISTUBISHI OIL. As with all veedol oils gears are super smooth. It is of 10W 40 grade and is quite good. I would rate it better than some of the expensive FS oils. Once i have due to money problem i ran it for 5K( at that time student, so you know), and the oil was still good. On my recommendation SARBONOXELY is now using it in his extreme and is getting best performance. Even my friens who is using VEEDOl in his ZMR is using this oil. I continued this oil till all the stocks were over in my friens shop. After that how much i told him, he never gets this oil citing increased cost. I have now gave him advanced money for 1 cartoon of oil of same and he will bring it only for me.9. Regarding diesel engine oils, then i will add i have used VEEDOL HDB PRIMA and it is also best oils in market. Also i have used BP(british petroleum and not bharat petroleum) oil for tractors. We have a big farm in village and thus we have a tractor because we have also agricultural buisness as my grandfather is an retired agricultural engineer. So after retirement, he started a farm as HOBBY in village and slowly it grew up to this big. So, my uncle used to use BP oil in tractor and tractor took about 7.5 l and i used what was left of it. The advantage of diesel oil is that, they are less prone to oxidisation and also do not thicken as oil gets old due to sludge. Also diesel engine oils have very high detergent content and thus helps in cleaning engine. If you are using diesel oils then no need of engine flush at all.So to sum up all-1. If you are using diesel engine oil then its good, just look that it doesn't contain molybednum disulphide( as PSR sir has mentioned). Some of the better oils are castrol CRB plus, VEEDOL HDB PRIMA, ELF HDB, SHELL RIMULA, E.T.C. Diesel engines have high detergent and will always keep engine clean. Also they do not allow sludge to build up and so do not thicken. Unlike mineral 4T oil which thickens if used for long, diesel oils will not thicken. Also oil will last longer than mineral 4T oil. But never use passenger cars oil. Also while using diesel engine oils always use 15W 40 oils and never 20W 40. I do not know why, but diesel oils of 20W 40 oils are always thicker than motorcycle oils of same grade. So use 15W 40 instead of 20W 40.2. If you want gears to be smooth then look no further than veedol. I do not know why this company is not advertising, but it has the best oils in market. Buy any oil from VEEDOL and i assure you, you will never be dissapointed.3. If any one has not used then use VEEDOL swift and i am sure he will never search for any other oil. Sarbonoxely is using it on my recommendation and you all can ask him his experience, to be double sure.

Sarbonoxely is using it on my recommendation and you all can ask him his experience, to be double sure.

                              great...

                              • Done around 3k km after the rebore. The diesel oils sound tempting. Can I switch to them now or should I wait for some more time?
