  • Thanks MAXzma, Sriram & pixantz.

I do use choke/kicker during cold start.
Yesterday again i visited the ASS, asked them to clean tank lid, the drainage mechanism (from tank), Today morning it took considerably less time to start.
I do not want to lose KNN

So as of now, the vapor lock issue seems to be resolved, and now it takes 3-4 firing to start the bike, which i assume is normal for old model not so well maintained ZMAs.

Well now am going to maintain it well, and see if it can start on the single firing.

I also need to change the tyre since its still stock after 25K kms and is almost bald now. Will search through the forum to find out the best fit.

    • Changed oil to Shell Rimula R3x 15w40 Diesel engine oil. Just rode for some 2km after the change. The engine runs a little smoother now. It also revs a little freely compared to 20w40(beacuse it is a 15w?). But felt the gear shifts to be not that great. Anyways these are just the initial impressions. Will ride around a little and come up with a report.
We are miles away from the routine.
      Headlights rise over the horizon.
      Pierce the morning fog.
Cut through the clutter in our minds.
      Carve new highways!

Best I can think of would be Dunlop Geo Cruiser 100/90-18. Then there's Michelin Sirac Street 100/90-18, also Pirelli Sports Demon 110/80-18 which looks the sexiest but not to be found a lot of late and can't comment on the grip of this baby. These are some of the tyres I would use. There are a lot more though, depends how fancy u wanna get! Ha ha

I have just put Pirelli Sport Deamon on my Karizma. The tyre is very grippy and confidence inspiring.
I am not sure how long will it last, but considering my running is very low I am not bothered.

If you want grip then this is a tyre that you must consider.I got 120/80 one for 3700 Rs.

          • Thanks again Pixantz (sorry to address you by this name, i don't know your good name)
I will try to get Michelin, heard good stuffs about it from many sources.

By the way this will be the first time I'll change tyre, sold all my bikes (P180, Thunderbird, P220) less than 5K odo and bought a 25K odo used one. ( i know am a fool )

But i was surprised by the fact that ZMA looks like the most comfortable one to drive.

You bet. Zma IS the most comfortable one. Hands down. Only, personally I would not have minded a softer bum pad. Ha ha

The minimum that this tyre comes is in 100 profile. I feel that will be an overkill for the Karizma.
I am using the stock MRF tubeless tyre that comes with ZMR in my bike and I am decently satisfied with it.
I am not aware of a lot of good grippy tyre options for the front of Karizma.

Do let us know when you change the tyres and your feedback.

                      • Hey guys, Can you tell me whether the rear grabrail on the ZMA-R and the Honda Stunner are inter-changeable? I m thinking of buying a rear rack to replace the grabrail on a ZMA-R. Only problem is that in UK, the ZMA-R isnt sold - only Honda Stunner is sold here. Can one of you check and tell me? Thanks a lot!
