This surely does work bro. I have done this earlier in my Cbz Star 2004 Model.
But the feel of New Bore, is a quite different Feel.

      • @ Ravi .....good clear pictures and video...the person working on the bore seem to know what he is doing, since he is doing it right...
The marks on the Gears is something i had not seen even in my 1,30,000 Kms done KB 100....either the pitting/marks are caused by Acid or basically manufacturing mistakes...
USHA is the best in business for Piston and good to see that you were able to source it....
Change all Bearings, "O" rings, OIL SEALS and ofcourse Gaskets to ensure that you have trouble free experience after the job...
Use Mineral oil only for the first 250~300 Kms and thereafter change to a good oil with ZDDP for better moving parts protection..
Since you have gone up to 2nd oversize you will get better power and FE...
        Good Luck

          • Ravi sir, thanks a lot for the pics and videos. Now got a clear idea about how reboring is done. Well why dents on the teeth of 2nd and 3rd gear? what caused it?. Are you planning to replace them?

            • IMHO, your engine looks pretty neat for a '05 bike.
Only means you've maintained it pretty well

Will be looking forward to first startup video once you're done.

Btw, are you sure you couldn't fit a 600cc cylinder there

                Nice clear pics .

No reason for it to not work .
If you really want to experiment , you can do what I did . I upped the cc to 235 , but it takes some ( just a little bit ) work from a person who's knowledgeable .

                      • Thank you all for the wishes and inputs. Today I have roamed entire city for sourcing the parts (2nd and 3rd gear, Primary gear, O rings, oil seals, all bearings in crank case (total 7, including crank shaft). I was literally pissed off when almost all the Hero Spares shop say no spares of karizma. I shouted and yelled at them for not keeping spares of Karizma that they have been selling the same bike for the past 10 years. I was able to get only oil seals kit and some o rings from Authorized Spares Centers. All the rest of the spares I was able to get from a local Automobile shop (lucky me).

All the engine parts cleaned thoroughly using almost 2.5L of petrol. Thanks to Kishore, a very hard-working mechanic.

My mechanic slipped out of the shop and came only in the evening. So assembling of the engine would takes place tomorrow morning. Eagerly waiting for that.

Correction: Mine is '06 model and not '05. Give me your Nano's engine; I will fit it.

Thanks for the encouraging words. The next time, I will experiment exactly what you have done. I have already spoken to my mechanic. Will source an old bore from SVC and will do.

The shop name is Javid Engineering Works. The technician there is 'Gangu'. The shop is in Balanagar. Will give more details of exact location later.

And as for the oil grade, previously for the past 14k kms, I have used Sprinta 5000 FS 10w40 oil. 10w30 Honda Throttle FS for the last 1500 kms. Now I would use a 20w40 mineral oil for initial 300 kms and then will go for Shell Rimula r3x/r4 15w40.

Drinking oil is a very bad sign. You better rectify it before it does more damage to the engine.

The last time i drained the oil, only 300ml came out. Was using Mobil 1 FS and it ran abt 5k kms before draining. At times, when starting the bike for the 1st time of the day, it emmits lot of white smoke for a awhile and it gets back to normal in about 30-40 seconds. this has been happening for quiet a while now.

Its being used very rarely. Only 8-9k kms in the last one year and now even less coz of the duke. So i thought i'd rebuild the engine after few months.

I hate you for leaving the poor baby like that. 300 ml is very less oil and if you run the bike, it causes extensive damage. Be careful. Internals of ZMA are very costly.

The reason why am delaying it is, it will hardly run 200-500kms a month. My bro is using it only 8 days a month. So i thought i will rather change the engine oil or top it off at every 1500kms and then go for a rebuild whenever he starts to use it on regular basis.
