It is a pressure moderator. If you apply sudden pressure, it is moderated and applied...but the down side is , if there is sudden hard braking ,which is held for some time, then the unit will block the pressure and braking will become very poor....so not advisable...Originally posted by ryan.virgo View PostHi, I came across this site Saferide ABS they manufacture Mechanical ABS for Indian motorcycles.
As the website says - Saferide is applicable to a wide range of Indian Motorcycles having Disc Breaks, viz. Honda, Hero Honda, Yamaha, Bajaj, TVS Motors, Suzuki India and many more…
Anyone has tried this product or do you anyone who has ?When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

And with electonic ABS, would the same thing not happen ?Originally posted by psr View PostIt is a pressure moderator. I have been using it for almost 3 years now. And it has given me more than satisfactory results. There is slight loss of feedback at the brake-lever but I definitely don't agree with the bit in bold.Originally posted by psr View PostIt is a pressure moderator. The difference with electronic ABS is that electronic ABS cuts in only at the time when you are about to break traction, Mechanical ABS is doing its thing always (even when not required).Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Yes I had on my unicorn atleast couple of years back, then it was around 1k incl shipping. Though satisfied, not required for Indian bikes I thought. You might tend to feel braking spongy.Originally posted by ryan.virgo View PostHi, I came across this site Saferide ABSRX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Have you tried sudden stops(Stoppies), sudden increase of pressure on the front brake lever, and held for some time ?Originally posted by antz.bin View PostI have been using it for almost 3 years now. Electronic ABS works by monitoring the rotation of wheel CONTINUOUSLY ,and modulates the brake pressure to prevent wheel Lock up,under severe braking. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

I think the 'cold start woes' are an essential part of the ownership experience of ZMA/R owners . To negate it I think you have to make the mixture richer which will give you lesser mileage . Better get used to using choke at cold starts . BTW how much is your AFR screw turn ?Originally posted by siddhesh View Postfacing cold start problems nowdays as temperature is dipping thru, changed to ngk g power few days back and also changed the air filter still the cold starts remain, have to give the choke to start the bike in the morning as well as in the evening to,any suggestions???sigpic

Finally did some long pending stuff on my bike
1) Got rear changed to MRF Zapper tubeless in stock size - Rs 1850/-
2) Changed battery to 9AH Amaron Maintenance free type - Rs 1735/-
3) Changed headlight to Philips 60/55W H4 type -: Rs 100/-
Things remaining
1) front tyre. Still waiting for a 90/90 18 tubeless, else will go for stock sized tubed type.
2) Changing spark plug. Yet to decide on which one to go for
3) Engine mod. Might go for Joel's big bore kit, since I want more power out of the ZMA.
Going the mod route, since there is no proper upgrade to the ZMA in terms of comfort and refinement in the market as yet. Waiting for the Honda 500, but will wait till the initial batch problems are solved and proper long term reviews are outRide Safe. Respect others on the road.

Hmmm... I'm going to hold evolution responsible for the above query!Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostAshwin what are you trying to accomplish here? Always add notes if you are attaching any, so that we know.

Lol, jokes apart, it's what the name says "Honda CRF230F Service Manual", a service manual is a manual which is provided to the mechs by the company for servicing a particular machine, in this case as mentioned in the file name CRF230F. This isn't released to the mass public, and hence very hard to source, it's rare to such an extent that 3rd party mechs even make their own customised versions and sell em for 7~20$.Motorcycling Experience:

@krish, let me know if you dont like your bike, will find a buyer for you. Your bike still has life left before you decide to ditch to joels.

Mine's now a 235 CC bike with very few non-OE items . Luckily I got a mech who was willing to do it . Also PSR sir was there whenever I had any doubts . My ride's past 3000 kms after the mod and am yet to face any problem . On the other hand it's pulling ability has increased especially in the higher rev region - I'm enjoying revving it !Originally posted by SriramEfunds View Post@krish, let me know if you dont like your bike, will find a buyer for you.
