Its used to prevent the tank from rusting, and keeps the carb slide lubed up, hence also eliminating any unwanted clearances. I also remember reading somewhere that its an octane booster as well.Originally posted by Shabeer Khan View Postwhy are you using 2T oil with petrol is there any benefit, will you please explainMotorcycling Experience:

If you use a 2T with PIB(castrol power 2T) then it helps in binding petrol droplets during atomisation and very fine mist is avoided....If the Petrol sprayed into the cylinder contain very fine mist then it can ignite earlier than a heavier ,or larger particle mist, since the smaller less dense particle requires very less heat to combust. This may lead to pre-ignition under heavier load and throttling.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostIts used to prevent the tank from rusting, and keeps the carb slide lubed up, hence also eliminating any unwanted clearances. Recommended dosage 2ml per liter of petrol first time.
1 ml per liter for subsequent use.Last edited by psr; 11-10-2012, 07:50 PM.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

ZMA Bangalore owners... need help
1) Tubeless tyres. I looked all over JC and nearby roads. Every shop says that tubeless cannot be fit onto the ZMA. It might cause air leakage. Whoever said it can be fitted, said they will have to put some fevikwick to fill in the gap. I don't want such a fitting. The bangalore owners who changed to tubeless, please help me.
2) Thinking of fitting a 60/55W bulb and change battery to maintenance free ones. Know any place which will do a good job?Ride Safe. Respect others on the road.

The problem is there arent any good tubeless for the ZMA, infact 18" in particular. The the plastic valve that comes on the ZMR cannot be fitted on the older models of the ZMA because the hole in the alloy is not big enough. However you get a metal valve which can be used if you can source a tubeless tyre. Its a direct fit no fevikwick required. Just before the ISGTG had that on, but due to a slight bend in the alloy where the air was getting leaked, didnt go for it.Originally posted by krish View PostZMA Bangalore owners... need help

P.S: I am not sure if the later models of ZMA have bigger hole in the alloy , if yes then the ZMR valve can be used.
Regarding the bulb, its direct plug and play, can be done at home. Battery Amaron 9AH would be a better choice than others.

With the road condition and the type of riding that I do, its better then that I stick to tubeless. Also as you said, the options are very poor indeed for the ZMA. Will stick to tubeless MRF, coz its served me well till date.
Isn't the 9AH battery a bit too big for the ZMA? Heard of side cover misfit issues and fuses blowing out with 9AH , but the info itself is 4 years old (Kirosh, when he was active), I was thinking of getting Maintenance free batteries since my bike goes through long periods of non-use. I'm already onto my 2nd battery, and this one's also drained out because my bike hasn't been used for more than a year.Ride Safe. Respect others on the road.

No the 9 AH fits in with slight adjustment in older ZMA...the side cover WILL hit the battery but very negligible strain on it...I had run with the Amron 9 AH in my ZMA for 13 months now without issues, with 55/60 headlight halogen, TWIN horns and rest all stock.....Kms clocked with the mod approximately 6,000 Kms.When I cranked the bike after 60 days the battery had sufficient charge to start like normal...Originally posted by krish View PostIsn't the 9AH battery a bit too big for the ZMA? So far no blown fuses or any issues...When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Another Amaron 9AH user here - got it installed just a couple of months ago. Amazing difference - the self start always cranks on the first try after the change. The shopowner removed the battery holder from the cage, and had to use a little force to make the battery sit inside the cage, but it took just a few seconds to do it. No issues so far, had to pay a total sum of Rs. 1520/- in a shop in Bommanahalli, Bangalore.Originally posted by krish View PostIsn't the 9AH battery a bit too big for the ZMA? I'm going to get a Philips Xtreme Vision 60/55W bulb next. But holding it off until I get my bike serviced, as I've seen some complain that their headlight bulbs were blown off during service, want to avoid that possibility. The bulb costs around 1200/- for a pair, and in most of the shops in JC road, B'lore, it is only sold in pairs. I'm going to look for someplace where I can get just one.- Which Engine oil for Karizma ZMA/ZMA-R? - Check this

Can anyone tell me, which is the best service center in Hyderabad for my white Karizma ZMA, bought it from Karuna Motors, Balanagar.
Service guys are so amateur there, they drove it like their fancy tool when i gave that for service and did put a ugly scratch on my front fairing. Which made me feel real bad.. as its brand new :'(.
Please help me on this. Suggestions are welcome on protection against scratches , Already one teflon coating was done on it.

I've found a place in BTM which sells a BAJAJ branded 60/55W bulb for Rs 105/- . Not sure whether I should try it or not.
@prashk-: Let me see whether its worth it. If not its just Rs 100 odd lost. Will then go for Philips and we can buy the pair, one each :-)Ride Safe. Respect others on the road.
