  • 5th service review.....!!

    Hi all,
    Am a newbee here and don't know much about the forum. i use to read the thread frequently and it was of good help for me. thanks for the thread and for the useful info from all of u guys.

    Coming to the topic.
    my ZMA just clocked 9k kms mark and i had given her to the 5th service.
    changed engine oil from HH oil to shell advance ax5 20w40 and H/L bulb to bosch h4 p43t 60/55w and done some wax job on her.. rest everything is stock. i was searching for NGK G-power plugs in many stores but could'nt find one anywhere here in mangalore. so can anyone help me as to where i can get that in mangalore?? does anyone in this thread from mangalore?? it would be of great help if anyone can help me out with this.

    • psr sir what would be problem for loss of perfomance,there is absence of torque and grunt?i had checked,there is not any leakage from airscrew,but didnt opend carb to locate issue.there is very less noise of tappet or chain tensioner.there is absence of jolt of tourque while crusing.i didnt rip my bike,it only use for highway touring(80-90kmph coustant)what could be possiblity problem?i cant get sound sleep due to it .

              Do a compression test.

                When did you last change the spark plug and Air Filter....both needs to be changed at 10~12 K Kms irrespective of their condition.If you have Champion plug in bike change it to NGK DPR8EA-9..or G power plug (DPR8EGP-9), if you can get it.
                Check for air leak in inlet manifold.

                        I need to know if any one has a pic of the tail lamp assembly, am trying to fix/fit mine and have a confusion if the tail lamp is missing parts or is broken.

                        Want to know if the hole marked 11 in the pic below fits inside the tail lamp assembly.

                            i had changed air filter 2500km ago,spark plug is ngk iridium,want to confirm ablout manifold or any rubber hose leak,and will upload plug pic.thanks sriram and ashwin for inputs,had stop daily commute for 2 days...and will check it in sunday or mon off.

                              The P220's gudgeon pin dia is 17mm and the ZMA's is 15mm, so what would be the best way to put a P220 piston in a ZMA block? Should we make a custom spacer like Acs sir did, or can we rebore the conrod eye and make it accomodate the P220's 17mm pin?

                                No, you cannot bore the small end of the con-rod because there is not much material left and also boring the small end will decrease the load bearing capacity.You have to make a custom brass bush which will fit tightly on the small end and will be free enough to let the piston pin slide in it. Nothing to worry as any good lathe will be able to do it.
                                For all of your information i would like to add that this method of adding a brass bush with hole for lubrication is nothing new or difficult. Those kinetic Luna's that you see when their engines are overhauled then there connecting rods bush are changed and Lathe's drill brass bush and fit it. So you see this technology is nothing new but quite old. Every Luna needs Bush in its small end and any lathe guy who has worked on luna will be able to do this without a single thought.
