              • @ACS Sir,
                You might find this useful.

You need a syringe with measure and a glass slab, you fill the syringe write down the CC (cubic centimeters/ML) then put some vaseline or light grease on the mating surface of the head or block, if its the block the piston is at TDC (top dead center, the uppermost stroke) slide the glass over leaving a small opening, squirt the water into the airspace below, keep filling until its full and get rid of any airbubbles, that is your volume, add the 2 volumes and do the compression ratio calculation.

If you want to do teflon coating then go to bike fashion in laxmisagar square and ask for WURTH teflon coat and you will get for Rs.200 and one bottle is more than enough for two bikes. Go for it as it is WURTH and so quality is assured.

                        • You should NOT use a cutting/polishing/rubbing compound unless you aim to remove scratches and swirls that are in the clear coat. The Megs Diamond cut is meant for a orbital polisher and like other compounds is abrasive (it means the paint will be eroded by just a bit each time it's applied). For waxing (polishing for shine in general terms), use a non abrasive wax polish like Collinite 845 if budget permits, or the motomax/waxpol/turtle/Formula1 (if you get an original one!) waxes for a lower budget. These will leave your bike shining nicely. Remember to wash/shampoo it first with a good automotive shampoo, dry it thoroughly and then apply the wax.

You using this one? This one generally removes a small layer of paint and gives you shining,Better not try these on bikes.

I have a doubt, what do you suppose would happen if the Diamond Cut was used on a surface that had lost its clearcoat completely??? To make things more clear a non painted factory black FZ which has lost its clear/shiny coat and is matte gray due to being left in the sun for extended periods?

                              • Paint surfaces get dull due to dust, climatic conditions like rain etc that stick to the paint coat and gradually dull these down. For severe paint defects, it is recommended to first clay with a clay bar (not normal clay, but automotive clay) that removes surface impurities. The next step is to clean the paint with an automotive shampoo (normal shampoos harm a wax coating, so they are not meant to be used on painted surfaces).
Thirdly, if the paint is dull, you can use a rubbing compound like the diamond cut you have mentioned (and mind you, even on cars, these are hardly used once a year or two, and that is to remove surface swirls and scratches). Better to use a milder compound like meguiars scratchX or on a budget, Formula1 Scratch Out, or even cheaper, Motomax 2K or Ultimate rubbing compound ..:: Welcome To Motomax ::...
These are meant to be used conservatively else you could end up scratching or damaging the surface even more.

If as you say the FZ has lost its clearcoat, and looks grey, you might have nothing to lose by first washing it, and then using a polishing/rubbing compound, and then washing again (to remove the grit left by the polishing compound), and then waxing it with a good wax. It should bring back the lost shine.
If the paint has been severely damaged due to neglect, repainting might be the only option.

Also remember that the compounds are meant to be used with a microfibre cloth, as is the wax. If you use a harsh cloth, you will leave scratches on the paint.
