^^ Must say these ENKEI rims are solid. On a short 130 km ride today, I missed seeing a huge pothole and run over it at >75 kmph with a pillion. I suspected a rim bend. Checked thoroughly for 5 min, no damage done...Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Yeah ZMA alloys are way stronger than my previous pulsar alloys, don't know where all my rims have taken the beating, pity them :P Might go in for a change of alloys in few days time. Will post the updates after the change.
Last week's few changes done, aftereffect of wobbling during last week's Ooty-Wayanad ride. The tyre used to wobble few times and few times it didn't. Though my alloy had a bent for over an year now, didnt experience this for the past 30K odd kms. What got me suspicious was the wobbling wasnt at regular intervals. It used be for 2-3 min max and vanish, few corners were taken regularly and few with heart in my mouth. So had the cheapest parts changed first, instead of going for the new rim straight away.
1. Swing Arm bushes.
2.Sprocket bearing.
3.Wheel Bearing.
Thank You PSR sir for the help
Total cost : around Rs.800/-

Hello,
I've an issue with 2009 karizma since you've good knowledge with piston replacement I wanted to see if you know about crank related issues that karizma faces . Since tappet and cam chain is the common issue with Karizma that is what I thought I was facing when I heard inconsistent sound somewhat like the tappet sound you get when you are in high gear but go suddenly to low rev and get back to normal rpm, I gave it to a local SVC guy, he told me that the bearings in crank are gone and whole crank shaft may be need to be replaced and could cost around rs. 3000. Please share your thoughts.

It is the carb., throttle slide which gets stuck, and the black deposit/coating on it needs to be thoroughly cleaned....Originally posted by Ramborider View Postmy zma perfomance reduced abit.it goes easily till 60kmph but afterward it need little time to reach 80-90.its feeling carb slide is stucking.i had opend carb and its butterfly valve and suspect butterfly valve was sticky to operate,so i washed it with petrol and lube it with engine oil.but after 2 days problem arise.how could be carb body and slide get freeto move.i mean using fine grade paper could reduce slide life??
1. Buy Scotch Brite cleaning pad, Rin or Pril soap small quantity,(they are good DE-greasers).
2. Remove slide only from the carb.,
3. Remove the throttle needle from the slide...
4. Wet and Apply Scotch pad to the soap, and get some on to it.
5. Wet the slide outer, and start to clean the slide by rubbing the Scotch pad on the slide, till all the coating is gone
6. Do not use too much pressure on the slide.
7. TAKE CARE NOT TO HOLD THE SLIDE RUBBER SKIRT BY ANY MEANS and ENSURE IT IS NOT DAMAGED.
8. Wash the slide thoroughly in water and refit the needle .
9. Fit the slide back on to the Carb., taking care to align the slide rubber skirt into it's groove on the carb.
10 After fitting place finger under the slide and push it up to ensure free movement...
Aneesh@4Ghz had done it with fine grit emery .....

Thankyou sir,
today i cleaned carb slide with scoth brite and peril and lube with diesel.rear 4*18 michelin m45 is wear out ,only 5-7mm is left in centre of tread, flatness incresed which robbing some power.which is best tire for grip for tarmac use in 100/90 or 100/80 size?Originally posted by psr View PostIt is the carb., throttle slide which gets stuck, and the black deposit/coating on it needs to be thoroughly cleaned....

First of all thanks a ton to Aneesh, Ashwin and PSR sir. For their help and support
. Changed handle bar to Pulsar 200 one. And also installed weights for the same. Also changed air filter today to a new one.
Pros.
1) Better response of handle specially on corners.
2) Better flicking ability.
3) Sportier seating position.
4) Handle bar is stronger than stock one.
5) Reduced vibrations on handle.
Cons.
1) Cables and nick nacks kissing the fairing and visor during fully turning the handle.
2) A little bit of cutting and modding required.
Other details after riding a few more kms
.
As for the 80 kms ride i did after the mod. So far i think its worth the effort. I feel this handle is much better. But still felt sleepy after riding sometime
. The engine sound seems like a lullaby had to stop and rest for couple of minutes
.

Nothing beats touring ability when it comes to stock handle bars. And the Pulsar handle bars, lower your handle position by a clean 2~3 Inches which will be a pain when you're doing long rides.Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostVishakh, can post the comparison of stock and pulsar 200 handlebar? EDIT-

You can have the following tires for the rear:-Originally posted by Ramborider View PostThankyou sir,

1. Michelin M45 (tube-type, but a few brave hearts use it as tubeless) - 100 mm, thickness same as stock, but appears wider due to its round profile. Awesome offroading capabilities. Decent highway tire, good in corners. One of the best upgrades on a ZMA/ZMR. Soft compound - replacement within 20k kms. No mods needs, its plug and play.
- Sadly, its production has stopped and finding a genuine piece is next to impossible.
2. Pirelli Sport Demon (tubeless) - 110 mm, round profile. Heavier than the stock tire and grips the road like leech. If fit properly, it just misses touching the chain cover by a milli-meter from both sides. I have been using this tire for 5k kms now. To offset the weight of the tire, I have removed the chain guard and hence reduced almost 5 kg from the weight of the bike. The ride height has increased due to the 110 mm round profile tire.
Its an awesome tire, great cornering capabilities and works on all kind of roads in all seasons. Negligible mileage/pickup drop. (Even before removing the chain cover)
- Soft compound, HIGHLY prone to punctures. (Luckily, I never faced a puncture so far)
3. Pirelli Sport Demon 120 mm.
Same benefits as PSD 110 tire (mentioned above in #2). But, this requires either cutting/removing the chain cover.
NOTE :- All these 3 tires require replacement within 20k kms.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
