I had no intention to rev it hard, the thing is, I was biting the throttle cable with my teeth because I wasnt sure not how to set idle with this carb, and when the bike started it instantly hit tacho max i.e above 10K and I let go of the throttle cable. I tried manually enlarging pilot jet and when I hit starter bike went bang, so for the time being I let it be and reverted to stock carb, used 2 circlips to raise stock carb needle position.

Would'nt everyone be happier if all ZMA/R riders come to Kerala for a G2G, bring me some souveniers, buy me some food, and part happily ever after.

Hi Rajarshi, we want as many Karizmas as possible on the road on 20th. Right now, the place is not decided. We're planning a one day short ride. Just to know and interact with one another. And the thing about being a veteran, its like lolz, people who know me, they call me nuts. We're a bunch of young nuts.

Options for the destination are open.

Right now there are 2 places that come to mind:
                      1. Nandi hills (~50 kms one way)
                      2. Breakfast @ Krishnagiri (~100 kms)

Every mech I met including the SVC people said that it was normal, but I put my foot down and demanded to open up the block, and there you have it! The bore was pretty scratched up, the bore kit was replaced and I remember asking the mech the reason and he said most 2011 ZMA's have this issue and have come up for cylinder kit replacement, and on inspection I remember seeing USHA(Paid attention cause we have a sewing machine with the same brand name and I was wondering whether its the same manufacturer. ) on one side and some 2 digit number as well, in the bore it was written KRY. The reason for partial seizure was that the piston pin had scraped the bore wall. I didnt get to check the manufacturer name on the stock piston, cause back then I didnt know much about these things.

I just checked mine and its written "D2 SAL" on bore, but my piston is USHA with some numbering. For checking your bore make, check under the fin from the kicker side of the bike.

Sir , with the inevitable speedo error , won't it show above 130 kmph if he was going at 8500 rpm ?

@Ashwin - seems the piston was USHA .

Was away for some time ...some personal matters and an HVK AIM at Wayanad . Met some guys there including AARGEE ( Ganesh Ramachandran) .
I am sorry, i was little late in replying as i was busy in some other personal work.
I am bundling all your query and replying, so that all in formation is at same place.
So the reply for your query are:-
                          • Yes, after July 2011 all the new bore kit is from USHA. Due to repeated complaints from customers supplier was changed.
                          • Sunbeam is nothing but SAL- Sunbeam auto limited. It is a subsidiary of munjal and is pioneer in casting process. Open the engine casing you will see sunbeam. Sunbeam is the leader in casting components, so it tried piston castings, the pistons which had SAL mark. But the casting pistons will never work as piston will expand and the piston skirt will rub with bore liner. So hero was forced to once again look towards USHA for piston, rings and liners.
                          • Regarding re-boring then if you are using USHA piston no tension of bore-piston clearance as USHA piston never expands and thus will never scrap bore or seize the engine.
                          • Regarding the marking on bore then SAL denotes that the block is made by SAL(sunbeam) and USHA piston means the piston is USHA, rings and the liner is made by also USHA. SAL manufactures the block and liner is inserted of USHA or GOETZE.
                          • Regarding availability, then USHA also independently supplies block kit as after market. It has own dedicated channel. And yes, it is the same USHA who manufactures sewing machine. As you know USHA is the best in whatever it manufactures be it fans, sewing machines, coolers, grinders, ovens, anything you name and usha is no.1 in quality. the same with bore kit. USHA is largest supplier in diesel engine spares.
                          • For more details on Usha and where to get it then:-

USHA Sewing Machine, Ceiling Fans, Home Kitchen Appliances, Kitchen Hobs - Usha International Ltd- Just enter your nearest city name as shown in arrows and you will get the authorised stockists of bore and pistons and also valves.

I have pasted the pictures from my Joy overhaul. You can get to know more from it.
You can see rings has almost no gap. But still the engine was free from the first kick. You will feel as if no running-in is required unlike other pistons. After 30k on Usha kit still also no slight decrease in oil level even after 3k on same oil.
Any more questions then feel free to ask.

                          • Anybody here tried swapping ZMA alloys with the new extreme(10 spoke) alloys??? i mean this :

I confirmed if it can be done, so wanted to know if anybody has actually done it. Costs around 3.8K-4K for the rear and few hundreds less for the front. where as ZMA alloys are atleast 50% higher.

ZMA alloys are made by Enkei alloy wheels, which is world renowned ....who is the CBZ Xtreme alloys manufacturer ? if they are the same and rim and wheel size are same then you may try it out.

Even extreme alloys are made by ENKEI. yes size are same and you can go tubeless. Also extreme front tyre is 80/100-18 and rear is 100/90-18 same as ZMR.
