Yeah, it is a possibility considering it was not covered for 2 weeks in the open. Also, there was water in the carb which the mechanic from HMC removed. Will give it to the service centre on Monday for cleaning. Also missing the AFR screw. Any suggestions/workarounds till I get the AFR screw replaced?

AFAIK, the AFR screw is used to adjust how much air mixes with how much of fuel. Going clockwise would mean a lean mixture, meaning more air and lesser fuel and turning it anti-clockwise means a richer mixture, meaning more fuel and lesser air.
A leaner mixture results in better mileage as more air is available to burn all of the fuel, but also results in lesser performance (why?).
A richer mixture means better performance (again why?) but lesser mileage as not enough air is available to burn all of the fuel.

The general consensus here seems to be turning it clockwise gently until it stops and then 3.5 turns anti-clockwise. Turn clockwise if you want better FE and cold start problems and the other way if you want better performance, easier cold start and lesser FE.

Guys, correct me if I'm wrong.

AFR stands for Air Fuel Ratio. It is used to adjust the amount of fuel supplied to the engine. In zma 3.5-4.5(CCW) turns is optimum. Go for 4 or 4.5 when on highways i.e long hauls. I have been using the bike with 3.5 turns for a long time now. I get 36-42kmpl with good pickup. Lesser turns means lean mixture and higher means richer. Too lean, you'll have poor acceleration and engine heating. Too high, your fuel will not be completely burnt i.e. more emissions and high fuel consumption. I have not fiddled anything with the AFR screw yet as I am happy with the current setup. Go through previous pages to know more on AFR screw adjustment.

This is the Honda CBF150. Sold in Turkey and Malaysia. It has a detuned version of the Unicorn engine. The semi fairing and headlamp have a striking resemblance to Karizma R.

What if i am using an free flow air filter like K&N? How many turns on the AFR screw and some people strongly suggest to go for rejetting(bigger main & slow jets) Can't we make any adjustments with the AFR screw to make the ratio without going for bigger jets or is it mandatory to upjet if I am using a free flow air filter?

Get rid off that K&N filter first before you start complaining about engine problems in a few days! K&N's have big pores. After few days it will get clogged and the engine will struggle without sufficient air I have literally seen clogged filters from friends' bikes!

My ride was giving the "roar" kind of feel when accelerated during riding. Something like the other g-power guys experienced. I had a normal ngk installed and swapped it with my old Mico plug just to check. The "roar" reduced considerably but the bike was still feeling a bit lean. Checked the afr and it turned out to be at about 2-1/4 turns. Adjusted it to 3.5 turns and tested. This was the first time I set the afr myself. Normally I leave it to my mech. Now bike is super smooth with better pickup and roar vanished. Also posting my ngk spark plug pics and want to confirm if it looks genuine to you guys.... Looks legit to me.....Click image for larger version

Yeah, figured that. Will give to the service centre on Monday. God only knows if they'll find it's missing. And even if they do, I have no idea how long they will take to source it.

Try and source it yourself? Go to the ASC or any Hero genuine parts shop and ask for the ZMA AFR screw set. All you need do then is screw it in (after making sure the old washer and o ring are not in the hole).

Looks nice!! But, if it is detuned compared to Unicorn, it seems really boring. Just a thought.

Completely agree with you man. These filters may not have been designed for dusty conditions as we have in India. And moreover, many cities/towns have construction of flyovers and roads going on, adding to the dust. Best thing to do is stay away from these "performance" filters.

                          Cheers,

Yes it is mostly vibe free. You might have mild vibes in the visor around 3500-4000rpm(after 2k kms on odo) and from the brake lever(above 110kmph). Otherwise its sweet. From 60 - 90, its feels like heaven. Anyways don't expect it to be like Unicorn. This motor has a much longer stroke length.

I had a tappet noise issue. Got it sorted out at the ASC but now i hear a sound like the one which come when the air filter is open. I inspected the air filter and the carburetor coupling to the air filter and it was all ok. What could be the culprit. The sound is not loud but the throttle sounds like i am driving pulsar 220 or an RTR EFI. Experts please help.
