replies in boldOriginally posted by ashwinprakas View PostSir can you please elaborate the damage's caused by ripping the engine at lower gears, Cause to attain higher speeds I usually do the above.
1. Chain and sprocket....due to increase in higher stress
2. Gears ..again due to higher stress ,and if gear missed while changing, tooth will get damaged.
3. Engine Bore and Piston ...due to quick increase in temperature
4. Valves and associated components again due to the above stress.
5. Timing chain due to sudden increase and decrease load factor ...will stretch quickly.
6. Clutch plates..
7. Last but not the Least the Rider has every chance of skidding on a wet or sandy or oily patch on road.
And does idle rpm have a play regarding acceleration smoothness, cause SVC set mine at 1100rpm hot, and bike was really giving me all sorts of trouble ranging from vibes to shutting off at traffic when i accelerate. But after i turned to 1500hot. All the problems have seem to disappear. Is it just my immagination or is there something more to it than meets the eye.
For Karishma Hot engine idle is 1400~1500 RPM and cold idle 1100~1200 RPM...If set low bike will switch off intermittently when slowing down.
And now completed the 1100kms mark still running on HH 10W30(Changed at 490KMS). And when i get my tensioner replaced will they drain all my oil? If then can I get them to fill 1.2L's of Gulf???
10W30 is ok or only first 300 to 400 Kms after fill in, after that it deteriorates fast. A JASO MA2 certified 20w40 is more suitable and can be changed once in 1,500 Kms. Use only Mineral oil.
Ravneet the K & N air filter allows more and larger dust particles compared to the stock paper filter, which is why it will be harmful to the engine in long run.Originally posted by ravneetsingh View Postno sir i don't have any idea..abt carb tuning..i juss know to keep rpm in cold and hot at 1 or 1.1 and 1.5 respectively..
if this thing gonna harm the ride its best to stay away till the ride ask for them..
and sir the word of ur'll be in mind that shift gear not after 5k rpm.
thanku...

PSR sir, One more query,
Will they pour our out all oil when they change tensioner?? Like splitting crank case??
Or will they just remove the silver thingi on the base on head and replace it?????Motorcycling Experience:

Only the tensioner spring unit at the base of bore...oil need not be drained.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostPSR sir, One more query,

If you are referring to the internal tensioner plate then also no oil need to be drained. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

I had warned that the AFR screw cannot be turned anti clockwise more than 6 turns for it is likely to pop out..6 turns is not the threshold for popping out..it is a warning because the AFR screw is not easily available and if one misses it ,the bike cannot be used at all till you get it.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View Post8 turns.. Its the tensioner thats responsible for the chil chil sound when engines hot.Originally posted by psr View PostOnly the tensioner spring unit at the base of bore...oil need not be drained.

Sir, Is there an alternative for the screw? i.e Other compatible models like unicorn etc???Originally posted by psr View PostI had warned that the AFR screw cannot be turned anti clockwise more than 6 turns for it is likely to pop out..6 turns is not the threshold for popping out..it is a warning because the AFR screw is not easily available and if one misses it ,the bike cannot be used at all till you get it.

May be...if your tappets are set properly then loose timing chain is a possibility.

hello guys
no issues with the bike so far clocked 1.2k on odo started moderate ripping
taking her to 100 km mark at times and most of the time travelling at 60- 70 kmph returning FE of 38 under these riding conditions seems not so bad. now needs choke to start which was not required earlier not a problem for me though

Pull 1/4th choke and then accelerate while pushing the starter button. Starts in 1st try.Originally posted by Vishakh View Posthello guys
