    other day, i was planning to fix a completely customized guard, the plan was to bend a straight iron tube and fix on the engine guard bolts, i was pretty confident about this but ma dad interrupted me saying that it wont be effective as the stock one. he also said that the oem guards, though look simple, they are there after severe safety tests and all that...well i don't know
    If designed properly the custom crash guard will protect as good or better than stock ones...The idea is to stop bike from falling on your leg, and also to prevent bike parts getting hit directly , leading to chasis problem..the crash guard must take the impact,.... may get bent , but SHOULD NOT TRANSFER THE IMPACT fully to the chassis.The tube used for crash guard should be weaker than the tube used for chassis.....just my thought.

      And mainjet 135 is missing,,,i m trying hard to get it..b.coz my zma

        R1100 is the one for ZMA, you can use RC1060 as well but its lil smaller!!!
        You can get a new stock jet and alter it to 135.IMO you shud give more priority to the engine smoothness than the top speed

          bro first you get your issues sorted out, get your bike in a stock running condition and then think about the k$n and all that.

          hope your on stock sprockets, this 120kmph is it indicated by speedo???
          have you ever checked it using a gps or by riding parallel to any other ride?? hope your carb, plug and filter is in mint condition, and your drive chain is not too tight, have a check on your Tyre pressure as well. because all these minor issues will reflect in your top end.

          is there any issues with acceleration ?? mileage??

          135 is too much, always start from the next jet size. zma stock jet size is 125 i guess, if so get 127.5 and 130 size main jets and. if you really wanna do this then contacting any experienced person will be a better idea coz AFAIK jetting isn't child's play. even the most experienced people/ tuners can go wrong here. so IMHO, stay away from all these mess for now, get your issues sorted out asap.

            That's the criteria which should sway ones choice . If the crash bar/guard is too rigid (like most after market ones which looks like Bhima's mace are ) it won't let the body of the bike strike the ground , but while doing so transfers the full effect of the impact to where it's connected to the bike : the chassis . Even a slightly bend in the chassis affects the ride quality as well as the safety of the bike .

              If you know about Carburetor tuning,and don't mind your engine having early death then go for K&N and up jetting.

                And does idle rpm have a play regarding acceleration smoothness, cause SVC set mine at 1100rpm hot, and bike was really giving me all sorts of trouble ranging from vibes to shutting off at traffic when i accelerate. But after i turned to 1500hot. All the problems have seem to disappear. Is it just my immagination or is there something more to it than meets the eye. And now completed the 1100kms mark still running on HH 10W30(Changed at 490KMS). And when i get my tensioner replaced will they drain all my oil? If then can I get them to fill 1.2L's of Gulf???

                    don't worry buddy...we r here to share our exper...
                    yes bro its on stock sprocket,n yeah 120km/ph indicated in speedo..,ride is smooth enough... acceleration is very gud..yeah mileage drops down..don't know y..after changing plug ,airfilter,oil its same....
                    there is one thing which make me think..i don't know where i m wrong....80kmph in speedo..rpm is 6..but when ride touch 100kmph rpm goes 6.5 everytime..and main thing is touching 119km rpm is 7.5..and then its stuck there..
                    tomm. morning i m going to HH SVC they'll check the thing(don't know the name) which is situated on the top in which spark plug is ....let see..

                          no sir i don't have any idea..abt carb tuning..i juss know to keep rpm in cold and hot at 1 or 1.1 and 1.5 respectively..
                          if this thing gonna harm the ride its best to stay away till the ride ask for them..
                          and sir the word of ur'll be in mind that shift gear not after 5k rpm.
