Arent mikuni's normally used in shortstroke bikes??? And will there be any performance set backs.

And sir can you guide me to fixing mikuni to zma, cause am intrested in learning about the procedure. I asked aneesh bro but he doesnt support the idea of using mikuni's, guess he meant mikuni wont give similiar performance comparing keihin.

Mikuni BS 29 will give slightly better low end performance, and there are some advantages....it is a straight fit, except that the TPS must be fitted properly on the carb...and jetting corrected..The Mikuni jets are marked for their flow volume, while the Keihin carb jets are marked in mm....ie., a mikuni 120 jet will flow 120cc in one minute, and a keihin 120 jet is 1.2mm.

And sir one more query, By TPS are you refering to the TPFC used in CBZ Classic???.

            • Found this page today, posting here as there have been some crash guard related discussions going on. Below is an example pic of Bajaj XCD/TVS Flame's crash guard fitted on a ZMA. I guess, the engine cowl if present, has to be removed to fit this.

Read the complete article here Crash Guard for Karizma|RightIndicator

@MAXzma and others who wanted to fit an aux lamp: Here's an example http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post647446. You might have seen it already. Dont know how comfortable one can be with these on, but give it a read to begin somewhere.

A Question: I have been wondering whether I can fit any other rear view mirrors on my ZMA. There is a pretty deep crack on one of the mirror assembly, so I am going to have to change the mirrors anyway in some time. I really like the rear view mirrors of the RTRs (and of ZMR to some extent). Added the picture below.

Can anyone tell me if they have changed their mirrors to something other than the stock one? Can just the mirror casing/mirror be changed? Or can I fit the entire mirror assembly of an RTR on a ZMA? The RTR RVM look smaller, so will definitely affect the visibility to some extent. But smitten by the rearview mirrors with sharp corners. ZMA has sharp corners from front tip to the rear tail, mirrors with sharp corners would complete the package (my newbie-sh thoughts). Please help.

See the similarities in the engines . The gearbox is different though .

By TPS I meant Throttle Position Sensor

Exactly! Even I've been eyeing the RTR mirrors lately. They are sharp and look gorgeous. Would be perfect for the ZMA. But not sure if the visibility would be the same.
But the RVM's I like the most are the R15's. They are like two huge monitors way in front which provide complete view of the road behind.

I love the visibility in my RTR's mirrior. BTW they weigh quiet a lot. Makes quiet a difference in handling/turning ability in my RTR. It should reduce the vibes in handle bar in Zma!

                      • Got my new bike

I got my New Karizma R Yellow delivered day before yesterday. This is the first time I am riding Karizma. I had taken a test ride of CBZ Xtreme but after the old one got phased out I opted for Karizma as the new Xtreme and Hunks were not to my taste. My Initial Impression:
                        1. Idle RPM is set somewhere around 900 and this is causing a bit of problem. Especially today morning had a hard time with cold start.I guess I have to go to ASC to sort it.
                        2. Gears are a bit hard, hopefully will be fine after 1st service.
                        3. After running for some km when I switch off the engine there is some mild metallic knocking sound from exhaust area. Once heard an FZ owner to mention this thing in the FZ thread and it was said to be normal. Is it so?
                        4. Engine is smooth but hopefully it will get more smoother with time.
                        5. Handling is the one of the best among all the bikes I have ridden.
                        6. I was a bit apprehensive about Pick up but it is more than enough for me for the time being.

Keeping the engine RPM below 3.5 is like meditation. But have to do that for good life of my love. Hope to have a great time with the bike in coming time. Cheers.

Thats interesting. Satish, can you compare the RVM assembly of your RTR with a ZMA somewhere/your own? From your signature you seem to own both, can you see if an RTR mirror can directly be attached in the place of ZMA's RVM? Can the whole assembly including the metal stalk of RTR RVM be attached on a zma handle? or atleast just the mirror/casing? I will try to give nearest TVS showroom a visit soon.

Sure, would def try to fix the RTR mirrir on the Zma and post few pics on Sat. problem is, if RTR is at home then the Zma wont be and the other way too! Both the bikes would be at home on sat/sun!

                              Few more points:
                              1. I found the Lights and Horn to be quite adequate in contrast to what people say.
                              2. Brakes are not sharp enough to my liking. Can I expect it to improve over time?
