Take out the spark plug and check it's colour...
A whitish one indicates lean AFR...not Good
A light Tan indicates acceptable AFR
A more Dark tan indicates correct AFR.
A black plug indicates rich AFR if it is DRY BLACK...if it is wet black then you are getting oil into the chamber
here are the pics of my plug, guess i am indeed running a lean mix
i should probably fix the AFR mix before attempting anything else, what say sir??

Your bike is absolutely lean....bike will not start without choke and till it warms up will run like a dog....and the Engine will be hot...hot...hot..
Check the rubber tubing connecting between Air Filter housing and the Carb., for proper fixing AT BOTH ENDS. I think basically your carb slide has deposits and not lifting enough with vacuum.

If your spark plug looks anything like the pic you posted then it is absolutely lean,..you will have cold start problem, and engine will get hot soon.Check carb slider for deposits, and proper fix of the Air Filter to carb rubber hose at BOTH ENDS.If Vacuum leaks are ruled out or taken care of, then the AFR only needs to be corrected.

                • @ ALL
There had been many queries and confusion in identifying the many tubes hanging under the Karizma near the main stand...
There will be two Thick large Diameter tube and one thin small dia tube.
Of the two large dia tube ONE will be PLUGGED SHUT and the other will be open..The thick open tube is the Petrol Tank mouth drain tube, connected to a metal tube under the Petrol Tank.
The other thick Plugged tube is from the Air Filter and HOLDS the Oil in the Air Filter which comes from the engine Breather.....SO this tube PLUG SHOULD NEVER BE REMOVED...The oil which comes into the Air ilter from the engine breather tube is drained through a hole at the bottom of air filter, (behind the filter)through a Pinkish/ Reddish NYLON tube, and the tube acts as a reservoir, hence plugged at the end...If the plug is removed then the engine will suck air directly from ground level through this tube and air filter will be of no use
The Thin tube is for the Battery Electrolyte(Acid) overflow.

                  • Aux lamp clamp

Got this clamp made from my fabricator for the aux lamps. The design was taken from one of my other friend who has got it on his ZMA & pulsar.

I liked the design & placement of the clamp on the handle. Since being quite high above the ground level, the throw should be good (I have not tested the light throw). But I feel the fog lamps should be put up lower than the main headlamp to see the road much clearly.

Currently I am using the lamp on the crash guard regularly, because its raining & it provides better visibility. My idea was to plonk both the lights on the crash guard & light them in steps. At contact 1 the left will be ON & contact 2 both will be ON, so in all I will have 3 lights ON simultaneously while riding on the highway at speeds of 80-90kmph.

I am herewith putting up some pics, kindly suggest on whether I should use the handle clamp & mount the lights there or use the current setup ie on the crash guard or if any other.

The clamps will break in course of time due to vibrations and braking, when the entire lamp weight will load on the clamp...I guess you know how much the fairing vibrates while driving.

you are right my bike dosent start w/o choke and requires abut 3 mins for proper warmup

also to check carb slide deposits i have to go at ASC meanwhile should i adjust the AFR first as you suggested

Do not do anything with AFR..
                            1. Check for Air Leak in the Carb fixing, carb to air filter Rubber Hose fitting at both ends.
                            2. Check for torn or open air filter.
                            3. Drain the carb., bowl of sediments
                            4. Check for Carburetor slide deposits...and clean.
If all these do not restore your engine to normal AFR then only adjust the AFR screw....Turning it clockwise make the AFR lean and Vice Versa.

Regarding the carb., slide cleaning please read my post # 5743....
For draining the bowl sediments here is a picture of the bowl and the screw you must loosen AFTER CLOSING THE PETROL TAP. Do it when the engine is cold as petrol will come out along with sediments and fall on the engine, and a hot engine is a fire risk ....The screw can be seen and worked on from the Kicker side of ZMA
