  • Recently my ZMA's airscrew waslost and was not able to source it. Again shortage of spares. So I replaced it with Unicorn's ASS guy told me its same and told that the optimum ratio is from 1.5-2full turns. Anyway I kept it at 3full turns and got very low FE and lost highend performance. So I kept it at 1.75turn and it is now giving me good performance...
Also I got to see a board in the SS that told about various adjustments of karizma which showed 1.5turns for carb tuning. But I was getting good FE with the old airscrew at 3turns...
Can anyone Post apicture of ZMA's airscrew for comparison....

Remove the seat from the bike, capsize/upside down the seat, you'll find L clamps facing each other. That's the place to hold papers. You can try to keep the user manual if it fits and not worried about getting it drenched!

I had posted the details already, for the benefit of all, here you go..

          Make: Philips Premium
          Bulb type: H4
          Watts: 55/60w
          Price: Rs.75-85 (depends)
Modification: Not required, the stock set up works.
Benefit: Good low beam and spread out high beam.

This bulb is also known as Maruti 800 stock headlight.

          Procedure:

There are two star screw bots and under the cowl 10mm bolt which box spanner will help undo the fairing. Change the bulb carefully by removing the rubber cover which helps protecting from water getting inside before removing the holder. Then you'll need to undo the clip holding the bulb to take it out.

Note: Never touch the glass nor it's tip. Always hold the bulb by the bottom.

I would suggest you to take it to mechanic and watch him and learn.

          From PSR tutorial.

Since you had changed the air screw meant for another 150cc bike the stock settings are no longer valid.....The taper at the end of the screw decides the setting...longer the taper finer the adjustment and Vice versa.
Adjust the AFR by taking the bike to Pollution center and adjusting it, or read the Plug every 30 to 50 Kms ride and set for Light tan color.

Yes it is a good place to hold additional material, but wrap whatever you are putting there in Plastic bag....because there are seat foam breather holes underneath which will drip water when you sit on the seat on wet conditions.

                    Whoa!!!
I bought Philips vision plus for Rs 450/- and the beam was not that great .Exchanged it to 6000k HID by paying another 1k.

For 75-85 bucks its really a good deal

What's CBR's OEM make? Is the bike in the picture CBR? I was told that Philips X-treme Power would have a blue tinge. Aneesh did you notice that while taking these pics?

                      • I bought some shitty chinese headlight for Rs250 first which had good low beam but absolutely no high beam! Then I paid another Rs300 for a Philips Blue Vision something 55/60. Low beam is good and satisfactory but high beam is not very good. In the highways it is really difficult to see. The beam is a bit dispersed and not focussed. Any tutorial to improve the focussing? If it doesn't work am planning to fix a crash bar and mount one or two lights on that as I do a lot of early morning highway rides in the weekends.

                        Headlights rise over the horizon.
                        Pierce the morning fog.

Any light focus is dependent on the position of the light source(bulb filament) to reflector position...Try putting metal spacers between the bulb metal flange and bulb socket.....you may have to make them..try aluminum plate which you can cut and shape easily...

Before you could go for aux lights, try out these:-

                            1. Change the bulb to Philips Premium 55/60w (that's the basic bulb)
                            2. There is a adjustments star screw below the instrument panel on to your left side to set the beam focus as desired.

I have done both and have no qualms on headlight.

Any picture for locating the screw or a bit detailed explanation please?

Below the instrument panel means i have to remove the fairing to access it? The screw is on the fairing is it?

@psr sir: Sounds a bit complicated. Will give Srirams method a try first cos it sound simple then go with your technique.

Yes changing to a good make bulb will solve the problem...
We adjusted the beam positioning...not focus, in your ZMA...only in high end cars static head light focus provision is given, by which the bulb is moved in or out to focus the light.
