  • Battery for ZMA-R

    Hi All,

My 2009 zma which has clocked 8.5k has it's battery dead. I understand that the stock battery is 12A and i remember that few people had fitted a 14A battery with slight modification since it was a little bigger than the stock battery. Can anyone suggest a good battery (14A) and the place to procure the same in Bangalore?

    Thanks,

    Krishna

have cleared the drain pipe of all dusts, checked the one way valve in the tank cap, its perfect. Still not able to figure out what could be the reason. Any pointers guys?
If your one way valve in tank cap is also ok then check the filter in the petrol tap..it is the nut under the fuel tap, and if you undo it you will see plenty of sludge..clean the cap and the filter and you should be good till another episode.

Aneesh, why do you feel 7ah is not enough that you have 9ah on your bike? How long have you been using Amaron? I have not heard very good reviews compared to traditional names like exide/amco in 2 stroke forum.

I am using stock Amco battery on my karizma.Heard somewhere in the forum that amaron requires exact 14Ah to recharge it correctly, may be 2strokes are not yet powerful to charge thoseThat may be the problem, its just my guess,Don't know whether its true or not..

The ZMA-R and ZMR both come with 6 AH battery now since the generator is strong enough to take care of the needs , when the bike is started. The self starter takes higher current and if the bike had not run , or run during night with all lights, the charging may not be adequate and morning starts become troublesome......for this and for adding HID two horns etc., most ZMA series bikers upgrade to 9 AH to get better ampere capacity .... just my view and thought...Though with a run down battery, and mostly night time riding, with kick start, i found the bike to be as dependable without any issues.
Your opinion since you had taken a short ride..

                            • In my Karizma, facing an issue with the fuel indicator. Its around 4.5 yrs old & faced this problem for the first time. The indicators show me very accurate fuel level.
Today while riding, the indicators where fine & showing up 3 bars, suddenly the fuel indicators vanished. On a signal, I turned off & on & the bars showed up fine for sometime & again vanished. Obviously I think it has to do with the Fuel Sensor inside the tank. But why this weird behavior ?

However i guess that 1800 is only for the master cylinder and not for the entire set-up.
I thought that some one the forum had this done already and was curious to know...
