      Yes, unless you are competent in this..do not attempt it. It will damage the carb and other parts.

                I had posted before that your settings will become different after stoppage of the leak and you have to re-tune it.I would suggest that with the help of some good mech you can take down the carb and go through it thoroughly and correct all problems, so you can drive peacefully.
                Another alternate is ,....instead of facing repeated probs with carb why don't you change it with UCAL BS 29 from Pulsar at Rs.2,300/- or 2,500/-....and have peace of mind.The bs 29 will give you better performance and is more friendly to mods.....
                I feel your carb has lots of sediments and the float bowl needs cleaning..

                  Aneesh i got fed up with the ugly lower scoop and the heating I had, and so dismantled it completely......and you are welding brackets and going for the scoop....
                  wish you good luck friend.

                    hey nice detailed pictoral guide bro

                    @psr

                    i drained the carb but found next to no deposits so i thought lets adjust the AFR screw and found that it was adjusted to about 2 turns so i adjusted it 3.5 turns instead of 4, just to see

                    and boy was i in for a surprise she fired right up with one push of the starter that too w/o choke and settled into a nice 1100 rpm rhythm right away

                    now the only worry is the FE, lets see........

                    is 1100 idle and 1300 hot rpm good enough?

                          You must be feeling really good ....now that you have learnt and DONE the adjustment yourself....this the reward of Knowledge and DIY...
                          You should get 32 to 33 city(40-60Kmph) and 43 to 45 highway(90-110)....
                          Check your plug after riding for 30 to 50 Kms..Light tan gives better mileage ,worry free startig and power.
                          I had done some mods on carb ( not jetting)and the plug is chocolate brown now...but the bike has good power....

                            If I were you, would run the bike calculating the FE from reserve to reserve to know the realistic figure.
