I got my New Karizma R Yellow delivered day before yesterday. This is the first time I am riding Karizma. I had taken a test ride of CBZ Xtreme but after the old one got phased out I opted for Karizma as the new Xtreme and Hunks were not to my taste. My Initial Impression:
1. Idle RPM is set somewhere around 900 and this is causing a bit of problem. Especially today morning had a hard time with cold start.I guess I have to go to ASC to sort it.
2. Gears are a bit hard, hopefully will be fine after 1st service.
3. After running for some km when I switch off the engine there is some mild metallic knocking sound from exhaust area. Once heard an FZ owner to mention this thing in the FZ thread and it was said to be normal. Is it so?
4. Engine is smooth but hopefully it will get more smoother with time.
5. Handling is the one of the best among all the bikes I have ridden.
6. I was a bit apprehensive about Pick up but it is more than enough for me for the time being.

Keeping the engine RPM below 3.5 is like meditation. But have to do that for good life of my love. Hope to have a great time with the bike in coming time. Cheers.

1. I found the Lights and Horn to be quite adequate in contrast to what people say.
2. Brakes are not sharp enough to my liking. Can I expect it to improve over time?

2. Gears are a bit hard, hopefully will be fine after 1st service. They have just got to life so it will take some time to wear out & will smoothen out, dont worry. After 1st service it will be little soft.
3. After running for some km when I switch off the engine there is some mild metallic knocking sound from exhaust area. Once heard an FZ owner to mention this thing in the FZ thread and it was said to be normal. Is it so? Thats the catalyic converter sound, absolutely normal. dont worry
4. Engine is smooth but hopefully it will get more smoother with time. Yes, it will. Change the oil to 20w40 grade & it will be much much better.
5. Handling is the one of the best among all the bikes I have ridden.
6. I was a bit apprehensive about Pick up but it is more than enough for me for the time being.

Ha ha ha don't get too scared...even if the carb is spoilt, you can fit Mikuni BS 29 used in Pulsars, and it will give equally good performance...a little mod to fit the Throttle Position Sensor only need to be done....and throttle is single cable operated ....all spares are available for this model, and it is cheap at Rs.2,400/-compared to 6 K for Keihin.It is a straight fit in ZMA.

Had my first spill!!!

Since being from mysore I have met Mr Somender singh many a times and i've rode his worked on bikes(victor/Fiero) too.
What his work does is,he had altered the profile of the cam too.The total work resulted in lot of initial torque and refinement was good too.The victor for ex ,used to feel like a stock fiero in lower revs.But since i was interested in increasing the top-end ,i gave up the idea.

So a slight low end power increase and cheap,right? hm...

You will find both inadequate once you hit the highways! The brakes are very good. Ride her for a while and check out..

Obey all the rules within the warranty period - if you want the best out of your machine in the long run . You may bend them after that time . Read this thread from the begining if possible . That's what I did - and it did me pretty good . By doing so you can avoid asking questions which have been answered earlier . The bike does test your patience by having to wait for the run-in period to be over , but the result is worth the wait ! In the meanwhile - as you said - meditation , or riding about aimlessly to pile on the kms are the best option !!

Remember to take the Anti Tetanus Injection within 24 hours.

The fair and lovely ones do cause many crashes these days!
