Thank you sir for the quick reply.

Turned to 3.5 turns. And is there any chance that the AFR'l get automatically adjusted i.e without us touching, due to hard acceleration or something like that??? I know it sounds stupid but i swear that my AFR was 4.5 turns when I went down and checked.

Im kinda getting scared now, not sure whether it happened on its own or SVC meddled with it, since the idle rpm was also underclocked when i got it after service.

after running with 3.5 turns for few days i notice that she dosent fire up in the morning with a single kick and often i have to use the choke
i guess this is due to lower ambients as 3.5 worked fine in summers and i single kick would suffice

the initial hestation though has reduced but then i have to warm her up for bit longer

so should i stay with 3.5 as you mentioned i was running richer with 4 turns?

You are aware of the de-merits of the lower cowl and still want it ?

If you are sure of the setting you made, then surely it is the SVC who had adjusted it.

Your FE went low and so we decided to lean the AFR...so stay with it and read the FE...Now that most of you know it you can do the adjustment as best suited to your requirement...but BEWARE, constant meddling very often may lead to threads and AFR screw getting spoilt...which means new carburetor

but if a have to use the choke then the 3.5/4 setting defies my primary obj. which is to get her fired up in single kick

            OMG!!!!!!!
            constant fiddling => new carb

Abhash even i have early morning starting problem now, because it rained and the morning temperature dropped...but I know the reason and accept it....after the initial AFR setting of 4 turns i had not altered it.
I had already posted a few weeks back that with winter setting in starting problems will be there and use of choke is inevitable.

It is better to use choke than look for a new carb at Rs. 6,000/-.

                • ohh.. didnt know you were also facing starting problems with 4 turn setting sir

i use the following procedure for choke-ing
-full the choke fully and then start her
-keep full choke for about a min.
-keep at half position for initial 1/2 km

                  is this the right procedure??

I pull the choke Half way and kick..bike starts with single kick and i hold the choke for just 10 seconds as the RPM rises to 3.5 K.then I release the choke and move on,... and in the next 1 km bike is warm enough to be accelerating without hesitation...but the first 1 km bike will feel out of breath, on and off.
When i start in afternoon with Sun shining it is normal without choke.

                      • I too can't avoid the choke in the mornings. Don't think its a problem too. It gets a bit cold here so I will have to choke her full, single kick, let her idle in half choke for some 30 sec and then ride off!
And as psr sir told she struggles a bit for the first km and then she is in full form!

Bike is super sir! But weekdays la so not much riding. Just to work. Comes around 20 km everyday. At this rate will take more than a month to complete the run-in! Very sane riding too. Biting my teeth to complete the 500 km. Will do a short ride this weekend to put some km on the odo.
