Really bad day. After a week of not driving I took the ZMA out only to have it bread break down. After proper idling and warming up I found that it idles perfectly but even the slightest throttle causes it stall. No amount of meddling with the idling could solve the problem. Almost instant start and stable idle but stall on throttle. Choke all didn't help. Guys please help out this is plain depressing.

If someone from close by can help you, that'd be great. If not, please let me know and I'll source an AFR for you and send it across.

Same pinch, I logged in just to post that.

When the bike is hot she idles but when throttle is given dies. The only remedy is to keep the slide up with engine braking when the missing pops up, and if by chance you're forced to stop, say at a junction then you need to either keep the throttle open cause if it dies, then you need to take a break to let the bike cool down. I was planning on riding to Blore tomorrow, but cancelled due to this and booked bus tickets. If your choke works then you can use it, but unfortunately my choke is dead stuck, cause bike had been idle for a really long time.

Hi guys. I have a noobish question. How many pipes do we see hanging at the bottom near the stand. Is it 1 or is it 3. If anyone has pics of the bottom half handy, can you please share

I think there should be four. Two thick and two thin
                  1) Crank-case breather(thick with a cap)
                  2) Tank-lid water drain pipe( thick and slit at a slant at the tip
                  3) battery breather pipe(thin and black)
                  4) Carb overflow pipe(thin, black)

                    Pixantz, you are correct.

In Karizma -R the following 4 tubes will be seen under the bike.....

                    1. A thick tube with a stopper for Air Filter box oil .....this is the oil from the crank case breather inside the Air box
                    2. A thick tube with open end for drain of liquid from near Petrol tank Lid,
                    3. A thinner tube for Battery fluid & gas venting
                    4. A thinner tube for Carburetor float bowl drain..

If any of you guys want a better than stock you have to do a DIY . Get a ZEN mpfi air filter and adapt your air box so that it fits snugly . I'd done a DIY and a step by step photo guide is there somewhere . I guess psr sir is still using it . It gives peppier performance and a bit more sound than stock . Remember , the air filter is meant for a 1000cc mpfi car and so it does give more air than stock and it should clean the air more than or as much as stock .

After putting in the afr screw , get a rubber piece the same size and jam it in so that the afr screw doesn't fall off again . I got a small round rubber piece from inside a Rs.5/- ballpoint pen's cap and put it there . I'd also posted a pic of that .

Today i had opened chain for cleaning but while assembling i obseved that output shaft and sprocket splines have excessive play and front sprocket is worn out.there was very light wear pattern on output shaft splines.as im more concern about if there is need to replace shaft i have to opened engine totally.

how to upload mp4 file format?or i have to convert it in other format befor uploading?

Count me in. Same problem. Though this happened to me when the bike was cold. 0.5km at 7pm after staying off since 11am. Took it out after 2 weeks and it stalled after around 15km(The other 14.5 were done the previous day and in the morning). Turned out it had water in the carb and the fuel tank. Gave it to the ASC for cleaning.

Thanks. Gave it to the ASC and told them a screw seems to be missing. That guy said, it comes in from the other side of the carb o_o. I showed him that there is nothing on the other side. He checked with another Karizma and then accepted that the air screw is missing. (BTW, isn't that a fuel screw?) So, I guess they'll replace it.

I don't think it fell off. I had showed it to a nearby mech when it stalled and I have a strong feeling that guy didn't put it back in. Will try that anyway. BTW won't it block the air flow? Sorry if it's a stupid question.

Lateral play between the drive shaft and front sprocket is normal , to adjust to the uneven movements of the rear sprockets and still remain aligned linear to the chain . Your front sprocket is worn and just begining to hook . Better to change now . Clean & grease both the shaft and sprocket while mounting it . Don't wonder , there is no need to replace that shaft .

All these questions are answered in this thread earlier . If you (Or any participants here who are newcomers) own a ZMA, I strongly suggest you start reading from page 1... if not page 1, at least page 400-500, where the action hots up. The amount of information here won't be had for love or money, and certainly not at any other place. I can only say thanks to the members here who have been there and done that and have so kindly and selflessly shared that information.
