Hello Karizmatic people, been a long time
There was a constant tak-tak sound emerging from the engine-unit since past many days, which would go off at times and again pop up suddenly. It was really annoying. Today, changed the cam chain adjuster and it is gone now. (Rs. 420.01)
The chain kit now comes at Rs 943.83 (around 100 bucks bump I guess)

The occasional tak tak sound in my case was the damaged Drive chain LINK....after changing it ,everything is normal...so if you get it again do check up the drive chain linkWhen Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Yes, sir. All going fine, elders' blessings are there with me, including yours.
And the tak tak sound in my case was even in the stand-still state, so I suspected the engine-unit and the cam chain adjuster or what they call as a holder, was the culprit.
The drive chain kit needed a replacement so badly, it used to jump off the rear sprocket so often since last couple of days, so I thought better change it before taking further risk. It was almost tightened to the max level.
Changed and happy again. Running on Motul 7100 (Rs 750) again. As usual awesome response.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Hi Guys,
Observed sometime back that the right side of the fairing has cracked and needs to be replaced. But, I thought I will try something different and go for a round headlamp. I am sure many have tried it. Do you recommend it? I am really pissed off with the plastic quality on the ZMA. I don't want to spend more money on them. Already have replaced the mudguard twice.
As you all may be familiar to it, the fairing rattles a lot. Hope the new headlamp arrangement can ward it off.
Waiting for replies/pics.
Cheers,

Have you checked the oil yourself?Originally posted by sinnerz2000 View PostTappets were fine like 2 months back when I changed the header oil seal, showed it to my Mech again he says I should change my oil.
Maybe he is just trying to divert your mind or something. Or maybe he is right. The exact sound and behavior is not clear. Either upload a video, or take it to some other mechanic to confirm, or maybe some other experienced member could help you out.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I have same noise coming from engine, So thought my timing chain gone kaput so bought it but after opening that found tensioner was giving that sound then my mechanic went for welding and weld that screw which behind tensioner. Now no sound.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostHello Karizmatic people, been a long time

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
Even today, an un-experienced mechanic asked me to buy a new timing chain, but then I discussed the issue with a senior mechanic, he said it will be okay with just the holder thing.Originally posted by NIGHTMARE View PostI have same noise coming from engine, So thought my timing chain gone kaput so bought it but after opening that found tensioner was giving that sound then my mechanic went for welding and weld that screw which behind tensioner. Lesson: Never conclude/apply things without prior knowledge.
(I've learnt this here on xbhp from my seniors PSR Sir, Arun Sir, SriRam Sir and more...)
Next time, I'm gonna look for all the issues first myself, Drive Chain Link (mentioned by PSR Sir), then tappets, then the cam thing.

Re: Karizma/Karizma R
I use Motul oil, there's nothing better than that so the oil is fine, and the sound is like a sewing machine when its idling while riding I don't hear it and I haven't noticed any significant loss in performance or FE. Can someone tell me more about this so I don't get ripped off by some mech.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostHave you checked the oil yourself?
