      Hello Karizma owners,

I am Ankit from Lucknow and avid tourer. For last 6 years I am riding Honda Unicorn and toured alot on my Uni, my steed never ever let me down.Yesterday,I sold my steed as I have clocked more than 1 lac Kms on it and booked Karizma-R which I'll be getting delivery on monday.I am little bit confused as most of the people suggesting for ZMR as ZMA will not be in production in comming time.I dont like ZMR for its full fairing and no kick starter.I can stretch my budget for ZMR but ZMR will not be good choice for touring in off road type conditions.
Are spare parts ( consumables )of ZMA easily available?
Peformance of ZMA in off road conditions, specifically chassis stiffness, front and rear suspension performance, ground clearance issues etc?
Mileage of ZMA if I dont ride above 80Km/hr and mielage on hills?
Any specific common issue related to ZMA engine?
Most imp- Hero brand ZMA is as reliable as older Honda brand, I mean hero brand engine having same detuned CRF230 engine?

      Please help.

      Regards,
      Ankit

The Hero ZMA is same as Hero Honda ZMA
ZMA and ZMR are more or less similar except MPFI and cosmetic mods. The ZMR is heavier. I think by choosing ZMA you have not done anything wrong.
The spares would be available even if its stopped, there are no plans to stop as such.
ZMR will give you more mileage though, zma around 35 , zmr may be 40

Just swap rear tyre to pirelli when you get bike...

Thanks bro for your reply. What about suspension performance of ZMA on bad roads, heard that ZMAs suspension set up is too soft for off roading and bike used to kiss road on big potholes ( GC issue)?

The ZMA-R still has the Honda engine,(though with Indian Barrel & Piston) with imported Carb and self starter motor...the Alloy wheels are Enkei who are trusted throughout the world....
If you hit pot holes at high speeds, the front mud guard will hit the Number plate..
I bought a pre-owned ZMA with 21 k Kms on odo and it was as good as new,and remains so till date at 29 K Kms..
The only down side with ZMA/ZMR is.... it is boring...cruising at 110 kmph will get boring after some time, since there is no wild vibes, or wavering...Even at those speeds, the ZMA/ZMR is planted on the tarmac, has control and engine sounds sweet, and you have every chance of falling asleep...and you will get addicted to it's smoothness..upgrading from a ZMA/ZMR is very difficult, since most other bikes will seem uncivilized (except CBR 250) ..
                  Just my thought...

In my Uni I had Micheli Sirac street 100/90x18 with Honda Tuff up tube and tyre never got punctured in its 30000Kms life, should I go for same as pirelli is not available in Lucknow.
