He assured me that it'll be satisfactory this time.

I collected my bike just now and here's what they did:

Engine oil changed, supplement added, clutch cable changed (rs. 71.25), front pad set (Rs.1123.85). On questioning why air filter, plug, chain/sprocket set and other cables were not changed he said they're perfect and do not require replacement now.

What's interesting was, I've asked about the speedometer behaving oddly (It shows 20kmph if I'm on 40kmph). He says there's a component LED in the speedometer console and that part has to be changed. They do not have it in stock and will change it later.

Anyone has any idea what this part is? I referred to the catalogue and the only item that sounded similar was "speed sensor assy".
Regarding the speedo error , it can happen if the worm gear at the front wheel hub is damaged . It costs some 20/- and you can change it if you can remove the front wheel . Component LED ?? That's new to me ! Or maybe I'm just ignorant .

pixantz, how much is the Dunlop geocruiser costs? Is that a medium compound tyre?

I got it for 1660/- without tube as my tube is new Dunlop one already so I didn't get a new one. But it would normally cost about 1750/- and about 2250/- with tube. Seems like medium compound. Real grippy. Its bliss after that awful Sirac Street.

My Meter console is fogging up due to rains. Have arranged for a cover for it. Can you guys tell me if it can be sealed in any way to prevent water/moisture entry?

My disc pad is making some noise regularly & lost its bite. I think its time to change the pads!!!
What is the time interval of disc pad change & also the Dot 4 oil of the disc. my ZMA has done 14k+ kms now. is it time to change??
If yes which pads are good for ZMA. Shall i go with the regular ZMA pads or is there any other alternatives which i can look into??

Disc pads life depends on usage, anywhere between 5k to 20k kms. On an average, they last for around 15k kms under normal braking conditions. Without delay, take the bike to a mechanic and see if the pads have worn out. If you ride with worn out pads, it will damage the disc.

No need to change the disc oil now. You can top up if the level decreases.

Thankz for the info ravi@17bhp..
So its not needed to change oil, in case of decrease in level top up is fine. What about disc pads??
Is der any alternative pads which i can look into which is more effective than the stock ZMA one??

Generally, disc oil top up required around 20k kms. Keep an eye on the oil level; if its below the min mark, it needs top up. The best time to top up the oil is when you change the disc pads. As the pads wear out, the oil in the reservoir goes down. Once you get new pads, the oil will be pushed up again. Corret method is to top up, if needed, when the pads are new.

You can go for disc pads of Ninja250R. They are of same design and make. I can't guarantee any improvement in bite.

If you want to save some money on pads, you can go for RTR160's disc pads, just 260 rupees. The bite will be slightly lesser than Nissin pads, but they are VFM.

I have replaced my first set of disk pads for 12k kms with original zma spare. Now my meter reads 16k kms and they is sound from the disk. Worried if ill have to change them again. And my rear brake never stops the bike.

Dont top up brake fluid. Change it along with pads.
