Negotiate the turn/corner only when you are clear the road is good. Maintain speed accordingly. ;-)

Old school thoughts:- Stay in your lane, always anticipate and reduce to brakable speed. You'll need to keep your eyes scanning right across the road for moving objects (Man, Animal, vehicles) and keep watching out for undulations, potholes & bad roads. While you spot the wet surface try to slow down before you hit the patch and DO NOT accelerate or brake while over it. Also you'll need to maintain straight (both front and back wheels) so that there is less chances you might loose the center of gravity.

What will happen when you accelerate or brake while running over wet surface (water)?

When you accelerate, the rear wheel tends to slip the tarmac contact might overspin than the front wheel and result in handling issue. Imagine oil has much more viscocity and pose even more danger.

Braking:- As I said earlier, if you spot wet surface from a distance, try to the vehicle in straight line and reduce or maintain the speed. Do not brake while over the surface. This goes the same even when you are taking a turn. It is advisible to maintain low speed while taking a turn for your own safety unless you are sure there is no wet surface or any vehicle movement.

While riding in rains it is altogether different. Good rubber shall offer grip even while you lean. But Oil spill on the road is dangerous in any condition and one needs to wear riding gears to minimize the damage to yourself.

I'm not sure if you are still running with stock tyres. If yes, never ever try to do what you posted above while moving on wet surface. You will see the sky!

You'll need to do absolutely nothing while going over wet surface, just let it go. If you brake or accelerate there is a greater possibility to destabilize your handling and uneven wheel spin between front and back might result disastrous. (I hope you are wearing riding gears for your upcoming ride).

Saw this video of a CBR 150R (Chandigarh) with Green cotton performance filter. IIRC, costs around 2k.

                      • My bike's front forks became very weak and the fendor is almost touching the headlight (removed front number plate). I have recently replaced the fork oil around 10 months back at Hero SVC. I have my own doubts now that the SVC have filled less oil than required creating more air gap. Alternatively, I am suspecting the springs inside the tube. My mechanic says there won't be any problem with springs as the springs are in oil and they can't be damaged so easily (my bike is a little over 6 years old). Any thoughts about the fork springs? Is it better to change them too along with fork oil?

                            • Hello friends, I am Paul, this would be my first post to the thread. Have been going through the thread from the start. And its taking some time . so i thought going from back will give the current discussion topics also. I have a 2009 Karizma R that my brother gave when he went to studies. So riding it as mine. Now i am facing a small issue with my bike. When the bike was given, my brother changed the front and rear tyre to Michelin 2.75 x 18 and rear M45 4.00 x 18. Now the rear tyre is giving some issues of scrapping the chain guard. It order to save the tyre from the chain guard the mechanic when i went to service tilted the tyre away from the chain guard. Now the tyre when lookign from the back in straight line the tyre is tilted to the right. This is causing another two issues
                              1. Slight skid while braking
                              2. When the rear shock compresses the tyre touches the rear mud guard. So again the tyre is touching while running. In order to solve this as of now i have made the suspension 2 step harder.
                              3. I am losing confidence while braking

In couple of pages before Divya Sharan and Sir SriramEfunds (pardon me i am not sure of the names) have said about Michelin M45 as a direct fit. For this do we have to remove the chain guard. (which i dont want to)

                              1. Is there anything that can be done about this. i wanted the tyre placement to be straight.
                              2. Whether M45 100 x 18 is same as M45 4.0 x 18, can anyone enlighten how to understand the difference

                              3. Is there any one who can recommend a good mechanic near Pimpri Chinchawd area in Pune.

Sorry for the post. I am sure these would have been discussed in this thread. i have almost finished 100 pages from the front and 100 pages from the back. Put a few messages also. Seems all are busy. So suggestion would be grateful.

                              Cheers

Get the tire straightened at a reputed tire shop first. Go to an MRF/Ceat dealer. They'll set the tire right. Maybe the axle nut bolts are over tightened otherwise I don't understand why should M45 scrape ZMA body parts!

No, M45 is a direct fit. Chain guard need not be touched. M45 is 104mm tire and ZMA can support tires till 110 mm without chain guard removal.
