So I believe for the time being am stuck with Stock Rotor as the only replacement option

On Googling stumbled upon something that said the 160 RTR's had rear 18' and front 17', Strange
While thinking about the RTR rotor,on a ZMA, did you thinks about it's Dia ?

The RTR Rotor is slightly smaller than the ZMA Rotor. By a few mm's, dont remember exact values, and its pointless cause RTR rotors need Pulsar/RTR Alloy because ZMA alloy has only 5 mount points where as the RTR rotor need 6.

Now I think I will do the same to my KARIZMA(the most under rated bike)
Back after the ride, and hell yeah!!! there is a vast improvement in handling, the new sets of rubbers along the Pulsar handle makes the bike a cornering machine, not joking at all!!! In my case vibrations are reduced cause ZMA handle vibes like crazy.

Its true, but sadly I still feel sleepy after riding for a while. So I let Sajin bro ride it while I rode pillion on Dhanush bro's bike.

      @All.

During our G2G Ride, there was a small stream, and Sajin bro tried passing it with my ZMA. Bike stalled (as expected ) and kept misfiring like crazy when we pressed the starter no matter what we did there were only continuos cycles of very loud misfires. So I reset ignition and kicked bike, came back to life as if nothing happened.

If the RTR Disc dia is smaller than stock ZMA then the edge of pad will be grabbing air....there are many other aspects to be taken into consideration before a switch can be made.

How did you reset the Ignition ?..

I apologize if I'm intruding into a topic. I have a 2008 ZMA which has done 29000KM. Can someone advise on the things I need to have replaced/checked in my next visit to the ASC?

On another note, after my last visit to the ASC, I've noticed that the mileage dropped drastically!! I filled up 10L of SHELL POWER. I've got to admit that the engine running is very smooth, however I've noticed that I've done 150km of city driving and I'm already down to the last pole

Now my speedometer needle has gone mad. It doesn't show the correct speed. It just sways like a drunkard. If the actual speed is at 60 it shows 20. Wonder what speed I have to go for it to show 60 :P
Has anybody faced this earlier? any help appreciated.

Speedo gear worn out, replace it. For exact cost ask ACS Sir.

                • Happy New Year to all the ZMA riders. Wish you all lots of fun rides this year.

Well, I'm just back from a 6 day ride on my ZMA. The bike performed well and its comfort was exemplary.

                  I have 2 doubts

                  1. Mileage- I was getting between 32-34 kmpl at all times on the trip. My setting is same as whats mentioned in the thread. How is it that most people are getting 40+ whereas I'm getting such a low number.
                  2. On my return from Wayanad-Bangalore, I increased my throttle input. But was dissapointed to see that the bike maxed out at 115kmph with the rpm at 8.5k and it was struggling to reach these speeds. Was shocked to see this, since the top speed earlier was 130kmph on speedo and 120 could be reached with ease.

Could the 2 issues be related? What all should I get checked?

                  • Happy New Year to All!!

Guys I have a small problem..

Last week, after riding for some 80km with breaks, all of a sudden the engine went off. It would start but it would just idle. When revv'd, it would go off. Again started and this time it wouldn't start. Tried different combinations with/without choke all that but nothing happened. Let it for five minutes and then it started. It rode fine and no problem during the almost 100km return ride.

Last night we rode to the airport(around 50km from home). Maintained speeds of 60-80 throughout. On the ride back, gradually increased the speed to 90's. After some 20km, the engine went off again. Same thing. Started after 5 mins and it started and rode fine. Any idea on what the issue could be??

Yesterday eturnd home after completing 3800kms approx. covering Andhra Pradesh and fee places in Orissa. Bike really performed well, have no doubts about it. Used Mobil 1 10w40 FS, amazing results. Never had cold start issue, engine was butter smooth and revved freely. It costs around 750 here in Chennai. Recommending to all tourers.

Krish, only sane riding with 2.5 afr turns might possibly return around 40kmpl. Those who say their bike returning 40, would love to take a look at their bike. Also check your speedo cable cause that might be the issue. I had recently been on road trip too, dont think my bike returned more than 35kmpl even being too optimestic as i as was ripping in 3 digits most of the time.

Gautham, from your description of the issue, it looks like afr is set lean. Did you check the afr turns?

                          • Divya Sharan - I had just serviced the bike before going on the trip . So everything was fine. I had also over-inflated the tyres 1 psi above the recommended settings. Will get the clutch plates checked, though I didnt feel anything wrong.

Sriram - You could be right about the speedo cable. Coz the bike was feeling very fast. When I see the speedo at 80kmph, it felt much faster than that. The ZMA does really feel fast unless one is riding above 110 kmph. So it was weird in that way. And I was overtaking everyone on road. So it wasn't slow per se. Even caught and overtook the new Verna on the bangalore-mysore highway and the speedo was showing 110kmph. The verna definitely was not going at that slow.

I know how 110kmph feels on a Hyundai diesel and its boring and feels dead slow at those speeds. Need someone to ride beside and see if the speedo is indeed wrong.
