Many complaints about "Michelin Sirac Street", i'm totally confused either to use the tyre that i have bought a few days back or to sell it to somebody . I was looking for M45, and the shop did not have that tyre and i was told Michelin's no longer manufacturing M45 in India.! Very sad, trusted "Sirac" before experts could assure.! All because it was Michelin.

Thanks Ji.! I could buy the stock "Air filter" from Southern Hero, Nandhanam for Rs:220/-. Also set the bike to run a little rich (AFR ~3.5 turns). F.E = 38 Kmpl (City).

Another issue to add. Michelins be it Sirac or M45, if you're into the habit of hooning, then the Centre threads will start to deform, but it comes back to normal after you ride sedately for a while.

This issue was seen in both Aneesh's and my bike.

The last time we met weren't you running the tire which was really meant to used for the rear. And we did discuss that being the reason for the poor traction under braking.

Or did you change tires after that ?

          Cheers

My clutch plates seem to have conked out at 8-10k. How much does it run for the other Zma folks??

Bro, the only tire which is worthy of the dual sport tag is Dunlop Monster Trail, both myself and BlackPanther are using it, looks pure off road hard compound type, but its actually soft compound(Mine is at least 10k kms old and its 1/4th it's original size, so you can assume how soft the compound is) sticks like glue when cornering, and never looses traction no matter what you do, but the downside is that it will wear out sooner than expected and adds considerable drag to acceleration.

@KP yeah same tire, till recently I assumed it was due to lack of Center thread, but it seems, many people including remy bro is using rear tire at front without any issues, and in a few g2g's noted that the tire used in Duke doesn't have Center thread, meaning its not as relevant as I expected it to be. So the next possible culprit is the tires themselves.

I am at 28 K + and still on OE plates......check if your clutch free play adjustment is correct.... if you are the type to rev the engine when starting or using clutch to adjust speed, then your clutch will wear out faster...

Thats fab sir. Even I had run my 2008 Karizma R for 34k kms on OE plates before selling it off. But my current 2006 Zma which I got second hand seems to just chew it up! Maybe its because I was running on a worn out cam shaft and rockers for some time which I just changed, or maybe not... Dunno what to think. There's power drop and sometimes it struggles to keep up with Unicorns! After double checking on my carb, which is also acting up of late, I'll go and change the bugger

                    P.S. - forgive my whining :-(

                      Hey guys,

Need some help. My zma and the CBZ classic had a flat copper/steel shim inside the front calipers which have gone missing owing to the great grease monkeys at the ASC. The replacement is nowhere to be found. I reamed the jackasses however they maintain that the shims are not required when the calipers are assembled. I asked them if Honda/Nissin was mad if they included this part. It's been 3 weeks and I'm unsuccessful in locating the part. I have attached an image of the exploded view of the caliper. Please help me in locating the part marked in arrow. If you are able to able to locate the same in you city, please let me know and I will pay you in advance.

                      thanks guys

Hey guys, planning Karizma R as my next bike (not now, may be within a year), though not confirmed.
Riding a HH Hunk and Splendor now.
What would be the mileage I can expect from ZMA-R in daily commute of 12km (one side) to office in a city like Chennai.

(I get 40kmpl on my Hunk with a worn out bore )

Well, congrats on your decision.. are you seeking for mileage?? it totally depends on your way of riding the bike.. I used to get 30 to 35 kmpl in city and got 44 kmpl on highways... and I used to be a rash rider... Are you planning to ride a karizma with a worn out bore too??

You'd be surprised but that's the same way I went for Street. I've called up a couple of dealers who're listed in Michelin's website. One guy honestly said he doesn't have M45 anymore while the other guy said he has stock.
I filled up the punctured tyre, rode over to him and found that he doesn't have M45. He showed me CEAT, MRF and Street tyres. He said the CEAT will be hard. The Street will be troublesome for the first three months, but after that it will offer "excellent" grip

Going by my previous experiences of sales guys telling all sort of stuff, I stood there and checked on my mobile. The air in my punctured tyre and my patience soon wore out and I went for Street.
