    • I didn't think the 55/60 is capable of causing heat burn to the reflectors, i had been running a 55w HID for 6 months (with stock reflectors) before i switched back to stock bulb (35w halogen) and found no indication of reflector issues. The housing used to get warm to the touch but thats pretty much it.

AFAIK HID's are a lot cooler than halogen bulbs.

Been using 55/60W Halonix for more than 2 months I think - no issues so far.

I don't remember posting what you have included as originally posted by PSR ...I definitely will not ask if one horn and one headlight can be connected to the same relay..
Sorry for the gaffe - it wasn't you . I have edited the post .

If you're gonna continue using the 55/60 W then you better get the relay connected - it does makes a lot of difference . Mainly it'll also prolong your switch's life !!

Yes,HID's are cooler, but warmer HID's are also available. (According to their Temperature in kelvins)

                    This is learning for me.
Indeed you are accurate, HID's are not only usually cooler in colour temperature compared to halogen but seems to run few degrees cooler than similar spec halogen bulbs in terms of heat radiation,
due to higher efficiency and lower heat loss.

I have posted a pic of my reflector (previous page) cant judge wether its a burn or somthing else please check it

And using a relay means full output of the bulb and that means higher the chances of reflector burning

                      • Query to older ZMA owners (ie other than 2011 version) does your bikes need valve clearance adjustment at frequent intervals?

Warmer 'kelvin' degrees reflect their color temperature . See pic below.

Could be moisture condensation (hopefully) . Check whether it's there in the morning after you've parked the bike for some hours and the temperature is cool .

Guys've been using 90/100 W h/l and not all are affected by reflector burns . I think it mainly happens if your h/l is on at very low speeds or at stop when the heat can't dissipate due to lack of airflow .

HIDs can be of low color temp or high color temp -from 2000k to 12000 k . The ones I've seen in my town are mostly Chinese ones @ 6000 k . They are bluish in color . What we want for normal light should be @ 4200 k to below 5000 k color temp .

HIDs are supposed to give upto 3 times light as compared to halogens . So a 55 W HID would give at least the light output of a 100W halogen while giving the heat output of less than what a 55 W halogen does.

Actually the HID works on the principle of an arc and gas ionization. There are no tungsten filament inside like in Halogens, and the Ionization of the Gas inside is used to emit the light in a HID...hence cooler in temperature than Halogen. The down side is if there are no Quartz glass filters the Ionization will emit UV...so a cheap HID without this protection is not preferable.
Here is a link to explain the HID...the English is not good, but explanation is.

                              • Karizma Balancing Issue

I have a 5 year old Karizma and have a strange problem associated with it since I bought the bike .

While riding the bike, when ever the bike runs over a pot hole or a hump no matter the speed of the bike the front part (not sure if its handle, fork or wheel) of the bike starts swaying left and right and it feels very scary. I will have to either slow down the bike until it stops swaying or I will have to stop it and have to push the front suspension of the bike back and forth.

I have complained about this problem to Sai motors from where I bought the bike thrice over the span of 1.5 years and have never got it repaired, each and every time they say they have fixed it which is never done until now.

Where and how can I get this problem fixed?
