Yeah, done with the headlamp on both bikes (mine and brother's).
But tell me where did you get the Philips Premium 55/60 w for just Rs.80??!! I went to a Marks n Glix store they quoted for pair of bulbs, Premium to be @ Rs 600 and Xtreme Vision @ Rs 1200.
I denied 'cause I had your price in my mind I thought Glix might be a costly deal..So in the evening alongwith my brother went to the very famous bike n cars' area here in Calcutta, Wellington...there after searching so many accessories shop found the Philips Xtreme Vision @Rs580 per bulb and a relay @Rs100 both were bought in 2 pieces, we paid him Rs1350 .
Headed to a famous electricals' mechanic there, he(2 actually) managed his(their) 2 hours or so in the setup in both bikes and charged Rs300 after coming down from Rs500 and the result was OMG A full bright beam...Now on the roads drivers ahead can recognise our dippers and they were giving respect by glowing there right indicators; earlier they used to discard our 35w tiny bulb' hi/lo action even I never noticed that my headlamp is high/lo or what...

So, total cost for new headlamp setup = Rs 825/-

I must say, every Karizma rider should give it a try before thinking about HIDs etc.

    • Fixed my speedo meter by replacing the "Inner Cable" Rs.25/-. Thanks to PSR sir's diagnostics.

And about the engine noise, the techie after warming up my bike for 30mins concluded that it wasnt valve setting but the piston needle(or something like that) that was making the noise and hence the cylinder kit had to be replaced. They gave order for the parts. Hoping to receive them in 20~30days. Am guessing, by the time my warranty's over I'll be having a brand new engine.

Happy to see one of your problem solved....but piston or bore parts cannot go bad unless bike was run without oil, or poor oil circulation...any way hope they diagnose and correct the problem properly.

Sir, I suspect poor oil circulation(I have my reasons, will PM you.).

And guess what last week another white ZMA had the same issue and had the cylinder kit replaced.

Anyways if that doesnt solve the problem am going to trouble them till they replace every possible inch of my bike. BTW people say once opened up the engine looses its perfection.. Any truth in it???

does running in low oil will make the piston and bore go kaput!!!!
            or only the piston

Did you felt any perfection loss while riding my bike?

I was with Ashwin @ SVC,enquired about my bikes condition,The Inspection guy had checked all and they had placed orders for all new parts,I will be getting the current 2006 model parts, there's some issues getting the new model parts,He forgot to order the rear fender and silencer cup ( That round part fixed using allen bolts). They will call me when the parts came .

Yes,it will damage your engine parts, anything may go wrong inside the engine if there is no oil.

Nope, your bike was top notch, except for the initial part, guess thats cause of the worn out sprockets. Please replace them too.

It is news to me to see a NEW ZMA having engine problem...If the bike is opened and closed with proper tools and by a trained Mech, there will be no issues.

With low oil level first the Cam,Valve and associated components will wear out, then it will be the bore and piston...

Sir, the thing is people these days are more stubborn to look into things. Its like the old "Chalta Hai" attitude.

Even the SVC said the bike's fine to roll. I had to make them wait and warmed up my bike for about 30mins~1hr for the noise to suffice and to make them understand that theres an issue with the bike. Ask Aneesh he knows, cause he saw the whole thing happen.

Even I could've ignored the sound like most people do, but thats just not me. In short am a perfectionist(or else why the hell would I being an ameature go throught the trouble of double taping the entire fairing, just to get rid of the rattling noise.) .

Yeah,Me too thought its tappet sound, but the service manager said its not tappets problem ,its caused by the piston pin and rocker arm. and finally said its the problem with the cylinder kit and will replace them in warranty.

Also sir I am planning to get Yamalube 20W40 for my bike next time,Pinaki bro said its a bit better than the Gulf. What do you say?

Horn needs (well , it's preferable to have ) relay if you're connecting additional horns or increasing the load by going for a bigger horn . Having said that , my relay is still in my room although I'm using twin horns .

With a twin H/L relay , the current supply is open when you switch on the H/L switch . That means a straight fit is not possible . You can hack the harness and do it - but then the simplicity will be gone . To keep it simpler , it's better to have separate relay for horn .
( hack?= connect relay direct and then add an additional switch for the light . That way the relay is full time on but the H/L will be on only when you switch on the additional switch .

Have to look into it deeper and see if there's another way !!
