Bought Shell Rimula R4 1 ltr for Rs.319/- Will use it once i finish running a few more kms with the current Motul 3000 4T Plus 20W40 oil. Any suggestions on Do's and Dont's.?
Also, can somebody direct me to the AFR setting page.? I have read lots of valuable information from this thread, but i'm not exactly sure either to set 3.5 turns or 2.5. My 2011 ZMA R has done 20,000 Kms, idle rpm 1000 to ~1200 & currently running with 3.5 turns. Engine heats up when doing long run. Am i running lean.?!

I don't know about mseal + feviquik but once I unknowingly applied feviquik over a two part epoxy(araldite), it reacted and started to smoke(exothermic reaction).
The plastic melted and it was a mess.

yes, there is a mild reaction when feviquik is applied on m-seal, but nothing major to melt stuff off (my mech first used the mseal to fix/joing the broken parts and then added feviquik on top of the mseal (so the feviquik dint really touch the fiber parts) - when i asked him why he is using feviquik, he said it helps harden the mseal faster

Manoj, there is no need for any oversize gasket. Hero Honda stopped selling O/S pistons long back. Of course, you can still source the O/S piston from USHA, which is a pioneer in piston manufacturing and the OEM supplier for the major automobile manufacturers.

The piston kit he used here was the ones from USHA (shriram pistons) and not from hero honda. (I do not know if HH sells oversize piston kits, most manufacturers simply ask you to replace the entire bore and piston with the standard one)
Sid, sorry for the delay. I would give an approximate detailed price break-up here.

O/S piston kit (with piston rings and piston pin) = INR 875
            Gasket Kit = INR 550
            O-rings = Approximately INR 50
            Tappet cover bolts 2 = INR 30
            Crank shaft Bearings (2) = INR 450
            Bearings in Chamber (five in number) = 130 + 180 + 140 + 90 + 110 (approximate)
            Primary Gear = 500 INR
            Second gear = 400 INR
            Third Gear = 500 INR

Valve Lapping + Rebore + Crank shaft work = 600 rupees.

Cam Chain Tensioner = INR 441

Cleaning of engine parts = 2.5 liters fuel

Unicorn Dazzler handle bar grips = 90 INR

Honda engine oil (20w40 old stock) = 230 INR

Lock nut in clutch assembly = 20 INR

            Gear lever = 147 INR

3 Liters of fuel for searching the spare parts

            3 full days of time.

Labor charge for engine dismantling and rebuild = Not yet paid, but he would charge 1200 for higher cc vehicles. I would give him only 1000.

Thanks Night mare.! Does the turns differ for ZMA's released before 2011 & after 2011.? Mine is 2011, with 3.5 turns. Is it need to be reduced to 2.5 or more.?

Finally went back again to HONDA Throttle synthetic and peace of mind, this oil if far far better for my Karizma than any Motul I am happy whenmy bike is happy, Yesterday filled shoes with nitrogen and she likes it a lot and my back is much relaxed aswell so far so good but on the negative side I dont know why may be I am getting paranoid I feel as if my bike is behaving like a drunk not fully drunk but a little bit. After a full throttle run sometimes its hard to keep her in a straight line, cone set is and I dont know whats wrong with her

                      Possible causes:
                      1. Rim bend (bad upkeep of air pressure/pothole)
                      2. Fork bend (accident/bad pothole)
                      3. Cone set wear (normal with age-ing bikes)
                      4. Swing arm fault. (highly unlikely)
                      5. Extremely high amount of air pressure. e.g 50 psi. (least likely)
                      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Did you also get the rubber bushes that come on the gear lever. Have been searching for those for quite a while now and are no where available.
Have been suggested to buy the entire lot of 100 by the wholesale distributor as he will not open it up and sell in loose. The 3 pieces of rubber costs 8 bucks

Did a caliper rebuild of my zma R yesterday. It was an easy job except getting off the brake pad holding pin caps.
Things i got for the rebuild:
                            1. Piston seals set(couldnt get the OEM nor the RTR ones) rs 50
                            2. DOT 4 TVS girling oil 250ml rs 90
                            3. Brake pads of RTR rs 259

                            • Considering this and the 200NS

                              Hi,
I'm shifting away from an R15 to either the Zma R or the 200NS. Some really bad reviews for the 200NS have made the choice for me. The only real concerns are:
is it too heavy for city driving?
Whats the mileage for sane driving?
Whats all the talk of expensive spares? Is this a common problem?

Basically I see the ZMA R as a step above the Unicorn. Smooth. Reliable. and additionally fast. Is there anything I'm missing?
What're the funny fine print terms and conditions of Hero's new 5 year guarantee scheme? Service every two months?

PS. Who are the good Hero Dealers in Chennai?

This mechanic I have known since 13 years. Even before the work started, I told him I would be paying the labor sometime later and he agreed for that.
