Slight friction will be there with Disc brakes, and wheel will not roll free like with drum brakes...if the wheel needs force to spin it ,then brake binding may be the reason...try forced water wash on the disc brake pads ,apply brakes a few times , and see.....if brake binding persists, take it to SVC and get it sorted out.

Did a continuous 1.3k kms ride on the Shell Rimula R3x. The oil wasnt bad, but when it came to extended rides in traffic the transmission was grinding, but that went away after a few minutes break.

A few hundred kms before Namakkal the bike started crapping out as soon as throttle is opened but a millisecond later its fine, and in final gear when we close and open the throttle there was a millisedond stuttering, opened AFR screw to 5 turns and it was solved.

One of the front suspension seals gave out and started bleeding. Chain makes a rough grinding sound on acceleration, I suspect its coming from front sprocket region.

@ravi: From where did you procure the oversize gaskets for the karizma. the showroom guys told me that they do not sell o/s pistion or rings for this model.
What do I intend to do? Stuff ZMR drivetrain into an Ambition chassis and watch others run scared!

Guys how to clean the CF filter ? do we have to open the crankcase to clean it like incbz Xtreme - the bike has done close to 18000 kms - its 10 yrs old first generation zma - tried changing the brake fluid but the screw thread were damaged so cant open the reservoir cap .

Aslo the bike is extremly hard to kick start- today it stopped in the middle of the road due to some electrical problem - i tried to kick start it but i had to use so much force to kick start it - too much compression is this normal ?.

yes to clean the CF oil filter you need to open the clutch side crankcase. to open the brake fluid reservoir take it to a mech/get it drilled out and replace the necessary parts.
how extremely hard is it ? if you have been used to electric start then using a kick after a long time it may 'feel' that it's too hard. since the bikes' done only 18k i doubt its got 'higher' compression (due to carbon build up)

ravi procured over size piston kit (and he is yet to give the price breakdown of the parts ) if that's what you mean.(there are no such thing as over size gasket)
The piston kit he used here was the ones from USHA (shriram pistons) and not from hero honda. (I do not know if HH sells oversize piston kits, most manufacturers simply ask you to replace the entire bore and piston with the standard one)

using your hands. come on man, this involves 'juggad' technology which is beyond the reach of a proper explanation.
least you could do is post a pic of the damage. there are some places that will 'repair' and 'fix' damaged fiber parts (i've seen this done in chennai @ pudupet)

After my last road trip in December 2012, haven't really done any long road trips after. Work got me isolated and circumstances forced me to miss few scheduled rides. Planning to get my ZMA serviced after a long long time.. infact nearly 6 months. Poor boy had broken right fairing but gave a replacement. Chain sproket has already making it's present felt and have concluded it's worn out. Rear tyre M45 bashed, wide bald area with no sign of any traction, bruised, tortured and now that tubeless tyre now shows age after 21k kms. The front MRF stock, still doing the job but has started to show baldness. As we are going through the peak summer season here, should show up for couple of short rides to be prepared for the riding days to be followed.

Though I have M45 4.00 x 18, still thought of clarifying Moto Q 100/90 for rear because i saw this tyre in one of the old Apache rear. Please share if you have any ideas on this one. Anyways, will post in Tyre section too.

Off all, there is one which bonds me with is, Reliable.

i dont know who came up with the formula of mixing mseal and feviquick, but i've seen mechs do it (including my mech who did it once to fix a piece of body panel on my dio) - he used mseal first and then feviquick !! but IMO i think just the mseal would do, but it must be let to cure for sometime for it to set and harden.

First clean the surface of the joint area with colin/pril or some other agent and let it dry completely. First use feviquick to lock the joint in position. Later apply m-seal around the joint to strengthen it.

If you are referring to the complete caliper Assembly to be plonked on the ZMA, then its not possible. The mounting point vary. Evern if the mounting points are the same, the dia oc ZMA Disc Plate is more than that of RTR

no, i am not trying for a complete swap. i just need the caliper piston seals set for both the pistons. i couldnt source them in HH so i was thinking if it works from TVS because the brake pads of RTR are the same.
