this problem is faced by all who have 7 amps or more battery. the reason is the RR unit gives a slightly higher voltage at idle and starts to regulate when RPM is raised...at this critical juncture the voltage will be close to 14.5 volts..enough to blow a lamp rated for 12.5 volts. added to this is the fact that the cold resistance of tungsten wire is less than when hot.so initially the lamp will draw more current than normal, and if you have a battery capable of supplying this high cold current,at a higher voltage(higher RR output) then the bulb will fuse.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostWow..Great,Everything related to brakes.
BTW one of my tail lamp bulb blown...
Many had this problem,if we change the right side bulb, then left side bulb will blown soon. What to do?
People with weak battery never face this problem. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

So can we use a little more high rated bulb?Originally posted by psr View Postthis problem is faced by all who have 7 amps or more battery. the voltage will be close to 14.5 volts..enough to blow a lamp rated for 12.5 volts.

or any other way to prevent it?

Well, to my experience, always wanted to see the light after plonking on to the bike than on picture. Sometimes shutter timing lags, you'll see the picture exaggerating the light which is unreal.
I had tried the LED tail lamps with even upto 24 leds, and with 0.125watts in clusters.....just one word...PATHETIC.any thing less than 1 watt for night light(5 watts) and anything less than 5 watts single chip for stop lamp, will be a laughing matter...we can convince ourselves, but it will be much lower in light out put, and a safety hazard.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostYes,you are right bro,Because from this pic i am sure that its not as bright as ordinary bulbs.
Planning on building one in near future with 1 and 3 watts POWER LEDS.When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Changing the tail bulb is simple-If you want you can replace the one blown with a 10/5W spec - saves you 11W .I've replaced both of mine with the said ones. BTW , after unscrewing the tail's screws , it's a bit tricky getting the tail lamp cover from inside(the edges are inside) the side panels. Take care.Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostWill that work? You sure?
Cheers.sigpic

I'm also running 55/60W (a Halonix left-over from my M800 - can't use it on my Palio) .I've used white LEDs for my park lights (I hope they are LEDs-but they seem so bright) and am on a lookout for LED tail lamps too.)Originally posted by SriramEfunds View PostDo we have LED enthusiast seeing this post?
Ok, this is what I'm looking for. I'm currently running on 55/60w headlight and it is much needed for me. It does a good job. However, I would like to change the Tail Lamps to LED having the same brightness, but not taking out the one of the bulbs to save some watts!
Share your thoughts/suggestions please..sigpic
