Thanks a lot krish. Since I've moved only now from 10.5 to 17hp, it will take some time for me to complain about the lack of power and top speed. I did bring the bike after a lot of discussion with zma owners and also other bike owners. In fact it was a CBR250 vs ZMA vs P200NS battle for me. I wanted a tourer at a reasonable maintenance cost & running cost, thus ZMA.

Sir, does CRF have a larger rear sprocket?? Because I see that it has an even better low end torque and revs very quickly to the top end.

And your bike heats up maybe because there is too(oo) much fuel which leads to a little afterburning(particularly at low speeds). You run at how many turns??
Was running on 6 turns, now reduced to 3.5 turns.

what caught my eye was the mention of foam type air filter. If it revvs freely then air supply must be adequate . I could do with one of those.

            • Guys, I'm noticing a minor shake in the handle bar when I leave the handle bar and ride. (under safe conditions, when there are no vehicles around) The bike though, goes straight and even under hard braking the bike maintains composure and line.

Please let me know if this is anything to worry about?

I am currently using a dual stage foam type air filter directly bolted onto carb. Has similar resistance to stock filter. And filters well too. Will post a ride report after completing 5k.

Normal. Thats the bike correcting itself.

                  • Got the bike back from 1st service today. I also got the bike teflon coated. Here's the bill(inc. tax)
                    4T oil - 265
                    (91255KWA941) Special oil - 105
                    Consumables(grease etc.) - 67
                    Teflon coating - 382
                    TOTAL - 819

Now this special oil is an additive added to engine oil to reduce noise, wear and tear. The technicians call it coolant(I am not sure what they meant). This additive has been added to the list by Hero Motocorp since a lot of customers have been complaining about excessive noise. I tried to see what this really was but the service manager told me they come only in barrels and not in cans or sachets. He says they are imported from thailand. I tried to google the part number and found that it is seal oil used in Splendor+ and Passion Pro models. I seriously do not understand what this is!

It seems they have screwed with you. Next time insist they dont add anything to engine oil.

And about teflon coating. I bought this

                      For Rs.60/-

And this is what I got after just 1 coat.

But no issues, I had to pay 500/- during my first service for the so called teflon coating.

Check wheel , fork , bearing . Normally if the bike doesn't veer to a side it is OK ( I do it to check whether the balance of the bike is OK- especially when buying a second hand bike ) , but I don't think the shake should be there .

                        1) I mentioned the foam filter because it's OE for the 230 . That means it should be good enough for the ZMA .

Herohonda's 4T oil should not be more than Rs 220 . Special oil = Scam Scam Scam (no such mystery oil used anywhere on Splendor+, and I doubt that it is supplied by HeroHonda at all) . Whole 200g pouch of best Castrol longlife grease is around Rs 50 - I doubt they'd need more than 25g for one service on any bike , what else ? . Teflon coating = SCAM (and very likely to have damaged the factory paint finish ) . For first service you should be paying for nothing other than a bottle of HeroHonda 4T oil , baas .
Now you know why you didn't understand it - complain to herohonda regional office with copy of bill .

Bikes have evolved over the decades to such and extent that it makes corrections on its own irrespective of the riders input. Thats the reason why its advisable not to grip the handle bars too tight. Notice how the motogp riders when loosing control, instead of trying to slow down, stand up and accelerate hard, so as to take load off the bike and let it correct itself.

The above is an additive used to dissolve sludge and to keep the engine noise low. It is a product for cars actually. It maybe this but my lucky guess is a ZDDP additive. Any other ideas ppl??
