  • There is a peculiar problem of the tail lamp blowing off in many ZMA's or at least in my bike that i know of.
Keeping the above in mind my concern is 1) The regular bulbs are not very expensive cost ~ 20/- and 2) The availability of these LED's in case they blow out.

In ZMA the tail lamp blow out is connected to a fuly charged 9 AH battery, or when the RR unit supplies higher than recommended voltage...Since the leds used in these lamps have a resistor in series to limit the current, chances of LEDs going defective are less compared to Filament bulbs

        Model: Karizma R
        Date of Purchase: 27/5
        Odo done: 320 kms
Trip: Chennai - Pondy (29th May)
Kms: 290 kms (to and fro)

Entire trip was smooth as I did not rev beyond 3.2 on the RPM. Was varying between 40-55kmph and reached Pondy.

On the return, after a small chat with PSR Sir, varied my speed between 40-70kmph. However, at few empty pockets of the highway, did 80kmph for about 30-40secs.

The bike was smooth and did not notice any adverse. Yesterday emptied the engine with HH oil and noticed the oil color changed from tinge green to dark brown. The oil filter at the drain bolt, had some flint and metal pieces collected.

After duly replacing the drain bolt, filled Motul 20w40 4T Plus. Did some 25 kms city ride, Ah! there was a remarkable difference in the engine smoothness and gear shifts got better.

@PSR Sir, learned a bit about ZMA-R oil change procedure, especially the drain bolt.

That's the real life of HH OIL.

Not sure why you'll need to refer to this chart. Moreover, the bike's manual really tells you the grade that needs to be used. It should be JASO and MA2. Just follow that. Offcourse too much of reference will only lead to more confusion. I would think bike manufacturer's advise shall be taken as a thumb rule.

This Motul is 3000 4T Plus 20w40 manufactured in India and marketed by Atlantic Lubricants, Mumbai. It clearly defines that this engine oil be used in 4 stroke motorcycle manufacturered by Yamaha, Hero Honda, TVS, Suzuki Bajaj Auto and Honda.

My reply below the API table clearly tells you to select 2 wheeler oil based on JASO MA2 spec and not based on API....you haven't understood still ?

Its too hard to keep it below 3.5 rpm isnt it...You have to keep an eye on the speedo or else it will find an excuse to touch 80

As I was having a shell ID card, threatend the manager and he got a new bolt and polished my bike for free .
Then onwards am doing it myself.

Most of these guys do not know whether loosening of a nut is done clockwise or anticlockwise...and they use spanners that do not fit properly....One should use Box spanner the first time and therafter ring spanner.....just my thought.

                              • Finally, I got myself a used ZMA in good condition. Though need to carry some work on it.

How much does the clutch plates and the fuel tank for the ZMA cost? My gear shifts has become hard . The mech said might have to change the clutch pates.
