    • Came to know from a good local mechanic that frequent chain loosening is due to bad swing arm bush.Is it?

      • I think my bikes speedo cable is busted too. Happened today morning unexpectedly any idea about the price?

        @Aneesh
About chain loosening my bikes chain has to be tightened more frequently till 4k kms. After that only during the service. Strange . No idea about the relation of that with bush. But might be a possibility

Swingarm issues, tight chain etc will result in chain going out of spec, as fair as my observations go, its always best to set the chain a little loose from factory setting, cause then the acceleration would also feel better and
the chain need not be adjusted for way way longer periods, in my case around 13k kms. The downside would be chain noise which will og away with regular lube'ing.
Recently tightened my chain at a local workshop for Rs.20/-, I felt as if the acceleration dropped by abit, but the chain noise completely disappeared even without enough lube the sound was'nt there. But now I believe the earlier setting where the chain was loose was better than this.

Yeah original. I was assuming the ZMA ones also cost 80/- but confirmed it with the mech that it costs 120/-.

              • Routine update.

As I've said before the AFR was at 3.5 Turns and the bike used to perform well in the mornings(Coldstarting needed choke.) and riding was sheer pleasure and even did a roll on to 120kmph on speedo with my usual pillion. Everything was perfect, but after college the riding was crap, the bike was running too rich on mains, and used to knock when I pushed it hard. So today lowered AFR to 3 Turns, but that killed the low end, so set it at 3.25 turns and till now running fine. Both low and top end are balanced, will take bike to college tomorrow and post the results in the evening, cause only when the bikes really hot it shows its true nature.

Also lubed the chain once more, cause the local shop people had used 'used' engine oil to lube the chain. Added more free play to the clutch, cause it started to get stiff and launching the bike in inclines was abit hard.

I don't know which one I got but here's the tag on it .

BTW if speedo is not working correctly after changing the cable , u might have to change the speedo gear at the hub .

And there isnt any separate model for each bike, the ZMA uses the old splendor model cable, part number number 44830KRY900S. The quality difference from the old one was spot on, this part in the new one i bought was made of aluminium.

Same pinch. This is the longer one used in old splendors.

                    Edit.

Used it a couple of months back. It was good but not any noticeable difference when compared to the other 20w40's.

                            • Hi everyone, the kms i cover daily is about 77kms, so at what intervals should change the oil?

Would also like to know if those cyclo oil treatment products are good, the shop from where I did the recent oil change was coaxing me a lot to try it out ...

Is it safe to use them? Anyone who has used them ?

                                After every 2k.

Better not try em. The bike was designed to run on normal mineral oil.
