Before even when there was 2 bars the bike could take in 1k rs petrol. So am also assuming that my readings have become abit optimistic.
I take that much petrol only if I'm on a trip or something . @ 15 liter petrol means @ 15 kg in the tank and that too high above the cg and in a fluid state . If you're mainly riding in town , I think it's best to fill in only 4 - 5 liters of petrol at one go .

Did you try taking a video instead of a pic ?

      I agree.
A pic with better focus would've helped . There is a discoloration which looks like corrosion .

Day before petrol hike, Dad gave me a K and ordered me to fly like the wind before the pumps go out of stock.

Wont work, cause the camera itself was pathetic. And its a Nokia, so flash only available for Photo.

Corrosion on suspension rod and that too of bike which he's using on a regular basis? Guess its better Sunny bro provides with more details and a clearer pic.

Also, the inner tube is hard chromed that it usually thicker than any other parts and tough to withstand many years. Imagine my 15year old RX inner tube is still shinning. I guess there will be many more members agree and see the same on their vehicle too.

This I would call it some defect or abused.

I'm stupid enough not to change the fork oil even a single time in the last 30.5k kms, and the mechanic said thats the reason it has got this mark and when I asked him to change the fork oil now he said that if the oil seal and oil are changed now then the oil seal will be damaged in 2-3 days and I must change the rod before I plan to change the oil.
Although regarding depth of this mark, it is not deep and it is just a smooth mark I can touch..but I trust that mechanic as well, he was surely speaking from his experience.

This is a manufacturing defect or there was some dirt like sand on the pipes which acted as a filing agent when the fork went down. Please change the pipe and the pipe is easily available. In my joy i changed the pipe after 10 years(2.45 lacs km). Use motul shock oil.

Thanks. Let me give a brief info about my motorbike and its usage (points I think that go in contrast of the current topic - front rod):

                Purchased
                : 30 Nov. 2010
                Total Kms till date: >30500kms
                Duration since purchase: ~1.5 years
Potholes encountered at high speed: 3-4 times, once got the front rim "slightly" bent which was corrected at a puncture shop with his extra-large hammer!
                Stunts performed on it
: Not really, just simply I won't...except a few normal beginners wheelies, then I quit.
                Brake usage: mainly front.
No. of times riding with more than 1 pillion:
2-3 times, in extreme emergency cases. (2 pillions)

Now, I am attaching few pics again, hope that further demonstrate the scenario:

Alright, now in the previous post I had mentioned that this mark is not deep and it is smooth. You won't feel any difference when you're moving your finger on to the nice part of the rod and then you go over that mark...I mean with eyes closed and moving your finger over the rod you cannot say where from the mark started - it is that smooth - now am I clear?
This was the front's right side (with respect to the rider)

                *****Front's right part closed here*****

Now, lets come to the left part, the oil seal is not sitting there perfectly and there I can see oil floating above and near the oil seal. When I inquired the mechanic that will the oil overflow out of the tube, he said NO!
Here's a pic of the LEFT part

Arun Sir, not nicely focussed right?

In the same picture, can you see some rust over the exhaust pipe?

                • You cannot claim warranty because of your odo readings. Or else if you have extended warranty you can claim it under that right? .

Or else go for a chrome replating as it is effective

                  • Opened up my carb and replaced stock main with 130mains. Afr set at 5 turns. Past 4k rpm bike runs like nos.

Also had intention to snip the return spring but the two screwS on top got disfigured while trying so dropped the idea.

Dont have the proper tools for the job. Hits 110kmph on speedo in 4th gear running around 0.4kms. And this with my chain being way out of spec.

                          • Hi Friends !!

I have upgraded my spark plug to Iridium IX....previously using stock spark plug changed after 15000 kms.

15 days ago, changed my front tire to Michelin SIRAC....also running on rear Sirac for past 3000 kms. The handle feels a bit heavy but it feels nice and stable.

Previously used the Petronas Sprinta 20w40 semi-synth and engine was butter smooth. Changed the oil to Petronas 10w40 but not satisfied after running for 1000kms.

                            I have some doubts....
                            1. Do I need to upgrade my ignition cables as well, or can i continue with Iridium without any problems ?
                            2. I also feel a grinding effect on chain at speeds of 40-60 km/h and also feel something rubbing.... Is it due to sprockets, and do I need to change the sprockets with chain or just the sprockets ?
                            3. Also I have a khat-khat sound from my engine... Is it due to the tappets ? and can I get them adjusted from local mechanic or only Hero Auth. Svc Station ?
                            ----------------
                            Thanks xBhpians !!!

Check the booklet of extended warranty and confirm. I think it is covered under warranty. And you gotta ask them and even argue to get things replaced under warranty. They are reluctant as always and its pretty obvious
