MRF and Dunlop Tubes are good.

    2. LED pilot lamps (~28, (2*3)*4+4) @ 300 INR/pair
    Same here too.

    3. Exide Bikerz 9A-H battery (guess its normal type and not an MF) costing 1300 INR here, is it okay?
Why normal ones??,pay a bit more and get MF battery instead. Amaron is Recommended.

[B]after how many kilometers/months should one change the battery that comes with stock?
    When it dies.

    5. standing still in ON position and turning the handle-bar causes a cut-off and resets the meter at a particular position, unable to figure out whats the problem, is it hitting some wire or what... this thing causes a lot of trouble on turns when bike suddenly shuts down!
    Short circuits?

    • Speedo meter Kaput.

Issue:- After starting from Chennai on a weekend ride to Moolakona (AP), say approx 3 minutes, the speedo stopped working and the trip meter read 777.7 kms(did not reset for the month I guess).

Today went to buy spares and found that 960S is not available at all. All they want to sell is Splendor's speedo cable complete set for 70 bucks!. Had no choice but to get that. I know Ashwin very recently discussed this and it came true for my bike.

After purchasing, while trying to unscrew at the wheel front speedo unit that sits between fork and wheel, it won't come out. Thought of welding out and weighed the options and decided to purchase a new one, however, got the same one with HH packing but happened to be CBZ-X's.
The speedo is now fitted after the inner was thoroughly greased by PSR Sir as the previous one went kaput because of rusting(even my accelerator cable faced the same fate and I'm yet to plonk one). Thanks Sir for helping on this one. On the returned checked the speedo worked fine I thought.

Next, will be experimenting with some change to plunger kit and hose tube since I feel the brake has some liberal ply than the required. . .

Find some one kind enough to do that payment for you through his credit card & you can pay in his account the amount . ( I am lucky to find a friend here . )

          .
They dont stock the ZMA ones cause the Splendors is universal fit. And no need to worry about the gears wearing out or anything like that, cause I've been using Splendor cable for a while and no issues, and the speedo doesnt stray at high speeds like it happens with the stock ZMA cable. The only thing that'd bother you is that the Splendor cable is longer and looks weird on the ZMA i.e atleast in the eyes of ZMA owners(None of my friends even noticed that my cable was longer and sticking out.).

Hey sunny, the same resetting and bike turning off thing was happening to my zma since past 2 days. Today opened up the entire handle, lock set and found out that the one of the 2 wires connecting the lock set has lost its soldering. Just resoldered the wire to the lock set and everything back as fine. I will post some pics of how I resoldered it in some time.

By the way where did you buy LED pilot lamps from?

This wire which lost its soldering has caused the trouble. Now sorted out.
The lock set has 2 wires soldered to it, one of it has got out. Just removed the entire lockset and re soldered the wire to the lock set. Pics taken from mobile, excuse me for the poor quality.

                • Finally it happened to me!

So finally I faced my first serious accident last Sunday. After watching a movie me and my bro were coming on the MC road at and at about 9 15 pm an idiot came from a by lane and froze in the middle of the road . If he passed nothing would have happened. Instead like an idiot he just stood there, might be he panicked. I braked swerved left to prevent hitting him. Rear tire locked, bike skidded to left, i flew off the bike landed on my face, chest and right palm. My head was going around like a football and hit the edge of the foot path and the road severely two three times. I stood up, people gathered I was frantically searching for my brother and was so much relieved that he was OK . Just few bruises for him. Ambulance came within minutes. Went to nearby hospital as my lower jaw was bleeding a bit. Was recommended to take to another hospital to meet a special surgeon. Called up my parents went to that hospital. 12 stitches on my lower jaw. and Jaw was fractured near both the ears. Bruises on my hands and legs.

We both were wearing helmets and it saved our lives. My vega helmet broke and have deep scratches on the left side. If without helmet I wouldnt have even been here to type these things . And really happy my bro escaped with minor bruises. His helmet also suffered some damages. No idea what all damage happened to my bike. Anyways it has already reached the SVC.

Pretty awesome sunday it was lol. And guys do wear atleast a helmet.

Shocked to note the incidence and sorry to hear of your injuries... if you were wearing a full face helmet how did your jaw break ? or was it half face helmet ?
Happy that you did not suffer head injury ,since one hit on the pavement platform is enough to do damage....
Wish you and your brother a SPEEDY HEALTHY recovery.

was wearing a full face vega motocross lid. Even though it was a sturdy helmet the impact was too heavy for it i think thats why my jaw got injured.

Glad to hear that...even with full face if your injury is this bad, I can imagine the impact...

                        • Vishakh :- Gosh! Terrible to hear about the accident. Well, God is great, so you both escaped with injuries which is not life threatening. I pray for speedy recovery.

                          My questions to you :-
                          1. Was the road wet?
                          2. Throw all those motocross helmets and do not use it again. Any damn helmet can take only one impact. Buy some sturdy helmet so that it has some good cushioning and good chin strap.
                          3. What's the condition of the bike?

                          • Visakh, Sorry to hear your accident. Recover soon. Proper riding gear is a must for indian traffic conditions. I am just shocked that you bounced on the road with such an impact. Did that idiot atleast bothered to help you out the situation or he just fled away?

Guys even if its a short run to the neighborhood grocery store, use a helmet always. Ride safe and be alert.

Road was clear. but i swerved left and dust will be present near footpaths on most roads i think my rear tire locked up due to the dust and my hard braking and the bike skidded.

Helmet is already in the showcase . Kept like a memory.

No idea what happened to the bike. All i noticed was a twisted RVM. My uncle said the right side has some damages and covlings and indiacator and the silencer has damages. I didnt see the bike in flesh after that.

Not a chance. As most irresponsible people does he fled away. Thank god atleast I was able to save him and swerve away. If i hit him the damage to us as well as him would have been way too much than this. The crowd was yelling at him to stop and and even some ran a little distance behind hime i think he got scared and fled the scene.
