Okies, then your fine to go. Never keep any oil beyond 3000~4000Kms.

It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

its the drain bolt i think,
if it continues leaking after cleaning the area with kerosin, replace the o-ring abt 10rs

me too experiencing the sam prob on my cbz.

also keep an eye on the engine oil level.

              • thanks for the fast replies...
                it's not the drain nut...
oil leak is from the center one on the left crankcase...
                any guesses why?

could be excess oil from the chain, worst case worn out gear shaft or sproket oil seal

If at any time you had overfilled engine oil then the excess is likely to flow in the right side crank...or if your crankshaft oil seal had gone bad then also oil will come into the rotor area.
Keep the bike in main stand and open the screw with a big size screw driver. if there is oil overflowing now, then your crank shaft oil seal may be at fault...you can change the "O" ring on the screw ,apply "Three Bond" liquid Gasket in the screw edges and tighten.. this will stop the oil leak..otherwise,the crankshaft oil seal needs to be replaced and involves splitting the engine.

                      psr sir,
i had actually overfilled the engine unknowingly...
                      i filled 1 litre instead of 900ml...
i filled it before 3 weeks... till now there was no leaks...
in case i have to change the crank oil seal or apply liquid gaskets do you know what will the costs involved ???

i case the gear shaft or sproket oil seal is gone, do you know how much it will cost ???

Crank oil seal change will need the engine to be taken of frame, crank case split and job done..approx 3 to 4 K..just changing "O"ring on screw and /applying liquid gasket will cost you approx 30 to 40 rupees and is a DIY..
when you open the screw on main stand if there is plenty of oil gushing out, then crank oil seal is suspect, otherwise overfill is the problem.

                            sir,
                            1 more finding...
on highway riding, there is no leak...
when goin off road or through potholes only leak is there...
the leak is very small... hardly 1 drop falls on the ground in side stand...

If you open the screw on main stand you will get the answer.

                                sir,
                                i removed the screw...
i din't get the term "overflow" as you mentioned before...
my current scenario is that there is oil on the bottom thread of the screw...
oil drips down; 1 drop every 10 minutes approx...
i'm nt able 2 post pics as i'm on travel... i only have phone with me...
