psr sir,Originally posted by psr View PostCrank oil seal change will need the engine to be taken of frame, crank case split and job done..approx 3 to 4 K..just changing "O"ring on screw and /applying liquid gasket will cost you approx 30 to 40 rupees and is a DIY..
when you open the screw on main stand if there is plenty of oil gushing out, then crank oil seal is suspect, otherwise overfill is the problem.
i removed the big screw...
when on center stand, oil doesnot gush out... it drips very very slowly...
when on side stand, oil dripping speed increases...
but when i lean the bike more, say 50degrees or less, oil gushes out...
what should i do?
please do check the pics posted by Aneesh@4GHz on behalf of me...It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

Correct me if am wrong sir, but doesnt excess oil flow out of the tranny breather tube? Cause thats what happened to me when I filled 1L.Originally posted by psr View PostIf at any time you had overfilled engine oil then the excess is likely to flow in the right side crank...
Dont spill more oil. Just replace the bolt and O ring if necessary and the issue will be solved.Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Postpsr sir,

I remember Aneesh bro saying that you've blocked the tranny breather tube, if thats the case then psr sir's explanation applies.Motorcycling Experience:

what is this "tranny breather tube"? i had closed a tube comming from below the tank (not from the tank) to the air filter... but that's removed now as per Aneesh's recommendation...Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostDont spill more oil. i tried putting back the screw & o ring but the leak still happens when i have a bumpy ride... very very small leak...
& lastly does anyone know what is the worst that could happen if i don't replace the crank oil seal ??? (assuming this leak is due to that seal)It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

you seem to have crank shaft oil seal problem..do not remove or block the breather then also this problem will arise.Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Postwhat is this "tranny breather tube"? i had closed a tube comming from below the tank (not from the tank) to the air filter... but that's removed now as per Aneesh's recommendation...

You can apply three bond liquid gasket re-tighten the screw and continue to ride...no problem. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

thank you psr ji...Originally posted by psr View Postyou seem to have crank shaft oil seal problem..do not remove or block the breather then also this problem will arise.

is the "breather" you mentioned here the small tube to the air filter?
now there is no blocking to that tube (if i am referring to the correct tube)...
so i should leave it open like that? i am currently not able to connect it to the air filter as the stock filter had been removed & a conical one has been installed...
is it ok to just leave the tube open or should i put any filtering material at the end of the tube...It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

Filtering material is necessary. Because engine pushes air out of the crankcase in pulses, so there's a suction pulse after every ejection pulse. Therefore theres a chance of dirt being sucked into the crankcase during the suction pulse. The Bullet's duckbill breather tube is a suitable replacement if you've already removed your filter box. Many ZMA users who have removed the filter box are using this method.Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Postthank you psr ji...

so is the duckbill breather tube a direct fit or are there any mods?
can you please guide me in installing bullet's breather tube by providing pics or links?
thanks...It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

Have'nt personally used it, but many ZMA users have claimed it to be a direct fit. If by chance its abit bigger then use a hose clamp(The small round thing seen on the pic.).Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Posti see...
