it doesn't have any filtering element at the end...Originally posted by Aneesh@4GHz View PostSeems ok but does it have any filtering element in the end??
Also how much you paid for it?
but it's sure better than leaving the tube completely open...
it costed rs20 only...
the oil seep has also reduced considerably...Last edited by blACk_pANthER; 01-29-2012, 06:54 PM.It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.

Understand that moving components inside the engine is brand new, will take some time to get set. You'll find this until the bike done about 300kms or so. Then it will shift smooth. Advise not to try out any for now.Originally posted by ryan.virgo View PostHi..
My zma is now 3 days old...everything seems fine with the bike... Changing from 1st to 2nd to 3rd gear is a bit hard.. but ive been told by many that it will soften gradually, or should I notify this to the service centre ??RX100 1996 | Karizma 2004 | Karizma-R 2011 | RXZ 1999 | RX 135 1998 | RX 100 1993 | CBF150 2005 - 2011

Fuel indicator
Fuel indicator is acting funny these days.
It shows full bars when the bike will hit reserve in few kms, it shows random bars; then once I get tankful, it displays correctly again till the last moment before coming to reserve it again shows full bars
Problem in the tank connection? Or should I get that thing replcaed (the thing that is attached to the tank with wire
) ?

The thing attached under tank with wires is called Fuel Level Sensor .Originally posted by sunny_ View PostFuel indicator is acting funny these days.

Open the right side pannel ( where battery is located ) , you will see a connector for that fuel level sensor , unplug it .
Get an ohm meter connect it to the fuel level sensor connector , When tank is full ohm meter will show 10 ohm , & when tank is empty then it will show 90 ohm.
If it is correct then no problem with it . If not then ask your ASC to replace it .
& don't forget to change the o-ring if you change the sensor.
The 10 ohm & 90 ohm reading are for Karizma ZMR , i think it would also be similar for Karizma-R .

Thank you for the resistance readings. I don't have a multimeter where I stayOriginally posted by Above_All View PostThe thing attached under tank with wires is called Fuel Level Sensor .

Plus the readings you said to note will require once when the tank is full and again when the tank is empty which is actually not practical for me. I'll try unplugging and re-plugging
to ensure tight connections.
"& don't forget to change the o-ring if you change the sensor"
What is that o-ring?

Erroneous Petrol gauge function is due to water vapor in petrol causing rust in resistance wire of the gauge.Try adding 2ml of 2 T ,per liter of Petrol,....in petrol tank, and see if any improvement is there..try this for at least 5~6 liters of fuel.If you are planning to repeat the process then 2T should be reduced to 1ml per liter of petrol.Originally posted by sunny_ View PostFuel indicator is acting funny these days.

O-Ring is the packing placed between the sensor unit & petrol tank .Originally posted by sunny_ View PostThank you for the resistance readings. I don't have a multimeter where I stay

Sir, I went to a local 2 wheeler repair shop and he refused to give me the 2T sachet, saying that 4 stroke engines don't require it, I just requested him to give one sachet for a scooter then he said he doesn't have one. I'll buy one this weekend. Thank you Sir, although I had read this advice of yours (adding 2T to petrol) somewhere else, but it didn't strike my mind. Thanks again.Originally posted by psr View PostErroneous Petrol gauge function is due to water vapor in petrol causing rust in resistance wire of the gauge.Try adding 2ml of 2 T ,per liter of Petrol,....in petrol tank, and see if any improvement is there..try this for at least 5~6 liters of fuel.If you are planning to repeat the process then 2T should be reduced to 1ml per liter of petrol.

Apply brake oil ,or 2 T , or Acetone and soak for 20 minutes before trying to loosen the screws.Originally posted by blACk_pANthER View Posthi guys...

Completed my 4th Free(Kinda) Service @ 7.5k a few days back.
Changed oil to Tide Water Company's 10W30. And lubed chain with TVS Chain Spray.
Surprisingly it acted out as a chain cleaner + lube, not saying much, here... see for yourself.
And about the waxing, this time I went and asked for the usual 3M wax, but they were out of it, so got the Meguiar's one, loose for 50Rs.
And for a while People've been asking about the condition of my 9SMD Led's, so here have a look, they've been continuously ON from the date of purchase.
And here's a small DIY, if your keyring gets broken off, then dont worry and dont try drastic measures like drilling holes etc. Here's what I did. Hold the key by the metal tip using a plier and hold the plastic end under a flame for a few minutes, and the plastic part'll burn off, now hold it under tap water and the debris will be automatically washed off and you have a brand new keyring. Here have a look at mine.
The blacked out portion is the identity code, it appears when the plastic is melted off, its used to aquire duplicate key's from HMC.
Thats all for now, Ride Safe.Motorcycling Experience:

Your bike looks well maintained.About the chain spray acting as a chain cleaner is just a psychological feeling.I am using the TVS chain spray from a year and pretty impressed by it.The lube does not come off easily at high speed runs unlike some other brands like OKS.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostCompleted my 4th Free(Kinda) Service @ 7.5k a few days back.
