Battery dead. Better upgrade than trying to charge/boost.

Double tape, use the black ones's.

ZMA's a noisy bike no matter what you do the noise will eventually come back. Here's some of the stupid things I do. Either put a few extra keychains so their rattling distracts me else will clean but wont lube chain.

      • Yesterday somebody dropped my bike when it was parked outside Vodafone Gallery. Thanks to the crash-guard, only the right side mirror was broken. Purchased the mirror for Rs. 90.
Clutch felt a bit hard after the crash, so purchased a genuine clutch cable for rs. 125. Did not have to replace it as the clutch felt better after making some adjustments.
Also, purchased U-clamp for the crashguard costing rs 35 and got a custom made steel clamp for Rs 20 so that the U-clamp could be fitted other way round, Total cost 290/-

Double taping using the black rubberized one's the best bet youve got. I couldnt find any thats why had to go with white(useless in the longrun, but better than nothing.).

When I was a kid I've seen dad use'em they last for decades.

Sorry. Just thought it better to do so rather than multiquoting within the same post itself.

All engine related noises are noticeable while at idle, and while running on the center stand.

The rest is unbearable and from my experience the Belly cowl contributes to 75% of the noise issues where as the rest is caused by the fairing. There are remedial measures but they're just temporary. Thats the reason most ZMA riders prefer to hear the sound of a loose drive chain or tappet noise rather than listening to the other non mechanical squealing noises.

WRt to engine related noises on idle and center stand...r u referring to your bike ? it will be unwise to generalise.

tighten up all bolts for belly, perhaps u can get rid of it as well...

are you certain that you want to keep chain of your bike loose? as far as my knowledge goes.. loose chain leads to less pickup and acceleration...tappet noise can be sorted by tightening the tappets on the engine head.. and most zma owners know the effect of a loose chain can never leave it..

                    Noises noticeable at idle.
                    Tappets.
                    Timing chain.
                    Mis-alignment in bore/piston(When engines hot).

Noises noticeable while riding on main stand.
                    Worn out clutch plates.
Excessive drive chain slack(Try letting the bikes ride in final gear and you'll know what you're looking for.)

tighten up all bolts for belly, perhaps u can get rid of it as well...
Been there done that, but due to rough riding terrains it pops back so finally ditched it and went for a crash guard.

Mine was never loose. It's just running dry thats all. The end results are earlier wear and tear and in rare cases chain busting while riding at wot.

Its never recommended to run the chain loose. Cause even if the chain busts then the bike'll stop running thats all, but if the chain gets mis-aligned then the rear'll lock up, resulting in an instant spill. And unlike a transmission lock you wont be able to recover by engaging the clutch.

And as notified before. This is just a personal choice. Its just like old bikers keeping their tappets loose to distract them from other non-consistent sounds.

Visibility is improved a bit. But zyaada difference nahi hai. The mirriors are more concave than the Stock ZMA's. Abhi use to hona padega...

Don't know to whom you're asking. That was your first post. Give a bit of intro and try to be a bit formal
By the way, yes I'm among those who are using the mentioned bulb.

                            • zma wont turn on...

                              hi bros,
i bought a used 06 zma last week... it was not used for 2.5 years... 27.4kms on odo... only mod i could find was a concial free flow filter, not a branded one... & missing accelerator cable b...
for 1st 2 days i had no problems...
                              then problems started showing up...
                              1. battery dead (gonna replace with amaron 9amps)
                              2. takes 5-10 kicks to start (solved by removing the cap on engine breathing tube, thanks to our Aneesh)
these were so far solved... Aneesh bro told me to send a pic of the spark plug... i did... it was black brown coloured & dry but tip was a bit bent... so he told to replace it...
then yesterday while riding on highway suddenly i lost power... i kicked & kicked (atleast 50times)... my legs were shivering... then i pushed the zma 1km to my friend's house (& that too through loose sands)... i hope this never happens to anyone... then when my friend kicked, the bike started in 3kicks... then we turned it off & it started many times within 1st kick... all these wer in neutral... then i rode to my house... when i crossed a road suddenly the loss of power happened again... this time i pulled the choke lowered throttle before the bike went off... as soon as i reached my house gate, it went off & has not started yet...
today i removed the spark plug again to find oil on the thread, tip is dry...

when i bought the bike, i changed the oil to Gulf Pride 20w 40 on day 1 itself at a mech... on draining the old oil, the mech picked up a small black piece from the oil said it was used in timing the pistons... frankly, i din't understand a thing as i don't know much about bikes...
                              i'm a fan of zma's reliability & that's the reason i bought karizma...
hope all xbhp brothers help me out on fixing my zma... plz...
It does feel great to have a tank of petrol between your legs & explosions just under it.
