      That's why drive an AT.

Today was an event full day for me and my bike. Had 25km ride on the bike. The longest till now. Went to pickup helmet, gloves and jacket for wifey. Boots still pending for her. Might Orazo Picus for her too.

I did manage to fit the buzzer. The sound is not as audible as would have liked it to but just enough for me to take a notice. My first DIY ever on any vehicle

Another bug i found with the bike is it wont self-start when in gear. Is it CDI issue again ? Or ASC guys failed to fix some wire ?

If you look closely there will be two wires from near the clutch lever...These wires are connected to a switch which actuates once you pull the clutch lever and enables bike to start in gear...this switch in the clutch lever has either gone Kaput or wires got disconnected.

Just came back from a movie. Both the movie and ZMA stock lamps suck. Getting a 55w bulb first thing in the morning. Will need to find a mech to fix it up too.

Thanks sir, i will inspect the clutch lever.

I don't think local mechs are good in doing things like that on ZMA unless he has maintained and have some experience with the bike....Better do it yourself rather than the mech fiddling around with the bike trying to figure out what to be done based on hit and trial methods, If you fiddle around its ok because its your bike and your hard earned money so you will be far more careful than the mech .

Just download the parts catalogue to get the details of parts and joining positions etc .

What you say is correct though i don't think i have expertise, yet, to open ZMA's headlight assembly.

Bang on sir. Once again. It is a loose connection in my bike. I jiggled the wires a bit and the bike now starts in gear. To fix it permanently the lever need to be unscrewed. I will take it to ASC to or a local mech to get it done.

Its simple anyone can do it, I changed my lamps withing a few weeks of getting my ride. Just remove the fairing(2 Screws on top and 2 nuts from below the fairing.). Then pull apart the fairing on both side's gently until the lock disengages. Now slowly slide it out, place it on your knee and then disconnect the wiring.

Then the rest is easy, the only part there's to be confused about is the headlight holder clip, but no worries, you'll get the hang of it within 5 mins.

Now comes the tricky part, putting the fairing back on, after connecting the wires, you can support in using you're knee and put it back, but for me its still hard, so I remove it myself, and after completing the necessary, go get Aneesh to help me put back the fairing. Cause its easier if two people stand on either side to guide the pins into place.

I have a history of ripping apart things and not being able to put them together. Be it toys, telephone, tape recorder and every other house hold item . I am not messing with my bike so soon now.

From what you have said it is the clips on the wire that have loose contact with connector in the clutch yoke assembly...So just tighten the clips and put it back and everything will be ok...No need to dismantle the lever or Yoke.

                    • I am still confused.. I don't know, can't figure out what causes the vibrations on the footpegs and the handle bars.. The intensity is very high..

Today I removed the fairings, all f them and rode the bike for good 10kms, damn, still get the most irritating thing, vibrations on the footpegs and handle and they start to creep in heavily above 55kmph..

Service ppl simply refuse that there are vibrations and they say it is common, and Hero Moto too as they replied to my mail in such a way..

Sir, can you please explain what could be the reason for this..

PS: I have a ZMR but decided to post this in this thread as the both engines are almost same, don't get offended pls

If everything fails, then try this.

                          Switch back to HH 10W30.

Every morning start riding the bike very gently, like only use 1/4th of the throttle, normally people dont notice it, but when properly warmed only that much throttle is needed to go past 80Kmph. At first the bike will just struggle inside 2k rpm, so if encountering upward slopes then dont upshift just gently and slowly overcome in the same gear. And after that keep riding, and when the rpm needle stars to hit the brick wall(remains stuck) maybe at 3k or something dont increase throttle, just upshuift, and keep doing that till you reach final gear and in final gear you keep riding at 1/4th throttle and slowly you'll feel the engine opening up its like 3~3.5~4~4.5 and after a long while 5 etc.. And you'll feel that the engines completely opened up. (For me the above procedure finishes withing the first 5kms.) Now sine you're done with the warm up. Bring the bike to a halt, now ride on gently, still keeping the 1/4th throttle rule in mind, in every gear try shifting only when you touch 5k, sometimes in traffic you may be in 3rd gear and due to traffic you have to stop accelerating at 3k, then dont think its ok to upshift, still keeping in 3rd raise till 5k sharp before upshifting. At first the engine will behave real rude and will vibe like hell, but in a week of following the procedure the ride will be as smooth as butter, then you can increase the upshift mark to all the way till 7k(1st gear only till 5k, rest till 7k).

Technically what it does is evenly wears out and smoothens all the internal components of you're ride but surprisingly not at our phase, but the engines thats why we should stick to 1/4th throttle rule and that too smoothly.

I accidentally discovered this when I was following a strict run-in schedule suggested by PSR sir, for my 2nd cylinder kit.

All the best, and ride safe.

                          • 55w Halogen

If i put a 55w halogen in place of the stock bulb:

                            1. Is it absolutely essential to replace the battery ? My night usage on weekdays is limited to max of 15mins.

                            2. Is it necessary to add a relay ?

                            3. Do i risk a burnt reflector with a higher wattage bulb ?

                            4. Is there a significant advantage of Phillips Extreme Vision over regular type halogen ?

                            5. Does any one know a shop around Indiranagar where i can get this bulb ?

I know these questions have been answered over the 1060+ pages but i could not get an answer to these in yes/no hence m troubling all of you again.

                              1. No
                              2. Yes for the optimum output. Stock relay is good but not upto the mark.
                              3. if your bike is 2011 model yes. If older model no.
                              4. Not much.
                              5. No Idea
