  • Rear tire change

    hi folks,

I want to change my rear tire from 100/90-18 to 110/90-18 for my KARIZMA-R to avoid fish tailing while applying brakes.

Do i need any modification in any part of the bike?

I am planning for MRF zapper....will thr b a major dip in FE?

The linkage rod may need a little bending to avoid rubbing with tire.

You can search for Michelin M45 4.0 x 18 ,ie 110/90-18 are very good tires and you wont have to sacrifice your mileage.I had it on my bike and i got 31 in city and 41 in highways.

I've never tired any other tires than stock but I think, during braking, rear skids only when rear brakes are applied more than needed, so a proper way to brake is needed in hard braking. And even with stock rear tire, it won't skid with proper application of the brakes. So I don't really get your reason as to why you need 110/90.
I hope you know about proper braking (application of front+rear brakes), then there won't be any significant drop in FE according to me, those can guide well who have tried those tires.
Next, please attempt to be more explanatory when making a query.

I dont know if u have applied rear brakes with a lil water while running on 60/70...it skids...Applying brakes more than required??...u either apply brakes or u dont mate
think of fz...its far more a stable bike owing to tire width

For cold start problem use choke and warm up engine for 30 seconds at 1,500 to 2,000 RPM..otherwise Adjust AFR screw to 3.5 turns anticlockwise after Gently turning it CLOCKWISE till it stops."

Battery is juz few months old so may be its an issue of starter fuse, can you tell me for how much will i get this starter fuse..
i always use choke before starting, even then it takes 4-5 kicks..

I am getting a rear tyre of MRF 110/90-18 and a michelin of 120/80-18...

which one would be better?? does reduction from 90 to 80 is going to affect anyway???

I think you are talking about MRF meteor.

                  and a michelin of 120/80-18...
Michelin Sirac now comes in 120/80-18,Made in India tires.

                  which one would be better??
My Vote for Michelin,May reduce your mileage, but a lot better than Meteor.

Rear height reduces by 1 inch or less and you may not notice that difference in most of the times.

it would probably have been fixed long back if it was given to the svc, but me being me, i had to try my hand at it first!

I took it to the lathe and had the pistons trued a bit. Now they slide in and out just right! Not that great but i could live with it! I replaced all the rubber boots etc as well! Picked them up from bajaj for 50 bucks as HH was asking for 800 chillar for the same stuff!

I tell you mate, its way easier to get stuff for my Fireblade and RD than the zma!! :/

I got a '08 model done 9500KM for 57K. The prices here in Bangalore are on a higher side. I have seen people asking ~65K for 2009 models. Saw one 03 model for 28K too. Hope you get the drift.

Now if you turn on any side indicator, all the four lights will flash. Just a put a switch in the wire, you will have a on/off switch. Very simple but effective setup. But for switching on the hazard lights, you will have to switch on the hazard light switch and then the indicator..
Hey everyone. Im interested in doing the Hazard light mod, since its pretty useful here. So my doubt is that, there are two wires leading to the indicators. Which one's should we connect.???

And, would also like to know whether we can fix headlight modulators for the ZMA.

                              Thanks in advance guys.

can you elaborate which seals did you use on the pistons now?,you could look out for rtr's caliper, they are an exact copy of nissin except the mounting bracket and pistons.
