Also suggest me some good lid in 1.5k to 2k range.

How is Vega Corah, got no response in helmet tread
Vega corah is just a normal helmet with just a brand name VEGA.If u remove the Vega brand name then the helmet is not worth even 300 bucks.
2 k is a good budget..Why dont u go in for a cross helmet. They have recently launched a new helmet quite similar to cohra.ITs price is 2k or less i think.
R u from Pune.If so u can go to J.M.ROad besides adidas showroom. Its a spare parts shop by the name of laxmi auto. They are dealers of cross studds etc.and bes part all rates wholesale ;-)

My Zma-r is now 2 yrs old and i`ve been using shell 10w 30..Had tried castrol earlier but then the gears became hard.Shell is the best oil for karizma in my opinion.Even during the warranty period i used it.When i used to give my bike for servicing in the company i used to tell the mechanic not to change the oil. When i used to go and collect the bike i would tell the mechanic to fill the shell 10w 30 oil which i used to buy from a spare parts shop.Simple

      • hello guys.. i've bought a zma-r one month past & rode approx 4500 kms.. i'm facing some prob wid mileage.. it sometimes goes under 30's.. i generally cruise on 100 & above.. wat should be the reason for low mileage??

& want to know whether bike can b revved at 6500-7000 rpm on 3rd & 4th gears or not?

& i wanted to ask abt the headlamps..
osram bilux 60W is one option.. & osram nightbreaker is the second option.. i wud love to buy osram nightbreaker.. but wont it create any prob regarding traffic rules?? and it burn anything in circuit in long run??

        waiting for ur replies..

Nah! Nothing will happen. But please use low beam inside city limits.

          waiting for ur replies..
You have answered the first question yourself..

On highways, the tall 5th helps for good mileage ... So, even 50 kmpl is believable & very possible!
can anyone please elaborate me this thing?? i stretch my third gear generally upto 60kmph.. & sometimes to 70-75 kmph..

He meant to say that you need to upshift to achieve proper mileage.Riding in 3rd gear all the time will reduce the average.

Correct me if i am wrong.

You are right. Riding the bike at 3rd gear for prolonged time will affect the average because it will put strain on the engine. So it is advised to upshift to achieve proper mileage. However, in city traffic it may not be possible entirely.

                        • I have a problem or maybe a feature of the ZMA which I need to know if its universal. Whenever I am riding the bike there is excessive tyre noise or something like some thing grating against or rubbing against some part. It only becomes noticeable when I ease the throttle, when the throttle is wringed I do not hear the noise much but maybe it is there.

I think that either the tyres are like that OR the chain is rubbing against the chain guard but its more of tyre like noise which I can identify.

Can changing to different tyres reduce this or this is prevalent? Did not notice this in other bikes or maybe didn't pay attention.

                          • just got my tyres changed and I find my front end to be slightly heavy and the the bike pulling to the left.does it have anything to do with the tyre.got the tyre removed and set again the problem has reduced a bit but is still there.it is like i have two much traction.is this because the tyre is new ? what else could it be.

                            • @steveburnside2001 : Just check both the tyres are fitted properly. Put your bike in center stand and rotate the wheel, see if the gap between the line on the tyre and the wheel is consistent throughout. If not get it done.

Saurav, is yours a new bike or did you get it used? If its new and you've done 4500 in the first month and you ride it in 3rd up to 70 - 75, then I think you've really rogered your engine. Whatever bike you buy, if its new, you need to do a proper running in. Which means keeping it to 40 km/h (ideally) or max 50 for the first 1000 and then possibly upping it by 10 per 1000 after up to 5,000 or so.

After that, you can pretty much rip it all you want and it'll still return a decent average and you can count on it serving you for a long time. If however you haven't run it in decently, ridden it really hard at the top of the rev limit from the time you got it, then it isn't surprising that you get a low mileage and you'll never be able to undo the damage caused.

If its a used bike which was already run-in then all the above was pointless, is to be ignored and I have no idea whats the problem with your bike.

                                Cheers
